@Ergates which company did you buy the cords from? I've been looking for a pair up to my waist, low waist ones fall down. I was wondering about Cotton Traders as the jeans @lizzie27 mentioned fit well.

Finally we have got around to cutting up the fallen buddleia tree. Just the last bit to finish with the chain saw but it ran out of battery. There wasn't enough room for it all in the garden bin which will be emptied next Friday, 2 weekly. I've filled a big cylindrical green bag, not big enough either.

Think I'll make a start on the Christmas cards.

Good afernoon all. Thanks for the explanation about the chooks @Obelix-Vendée. I love the Mount Fuji fabric @Ergates. My bird bath in the back garden had that sort of icy look to it earlier on this week. The weather was incredibly weird today in that first thing when I nipped out to the GC it was lovely blue sky and sunny but by 11:00 it was so dark outside I had to put my lights on in my house and there was a spectacular hailstorm. 3 hours after that the sun broke through again.

Evening all, we too, had brilliant sunshine and blue skies this morning. Thankfully, there was one parking space left for me at the G.P's at 9.30 am - phew! It's nearly all double yellow lines around there which makes it difficult if the car park is full up - it only takes four cars as it is.
Had a chat with my lovely G.P. who is perplexed by my intermittent breathlessness so he's referring me first to the respiratory assessment clinic. If not that, then it's a cardiac clinic. Asked me to arrange for a blood test and ECG and by good fortune, the receptionist had just had a cancellation for 20 mins later. Had the ECG and then gave a little bit of blood very grudgingly which then stopped! Have to have a second attempt but nearest appointment is now 22nd Dec which is frustrating. Hey ho.

Popped into M&S foodhall to get a big chicken for tomorrow's dinner for Sis and again got a parking space! Must be my lucky day. Traffic was busy as our Xmas Market started today.

Third stop was the Crem. Popped my flowers into the Memorial Chapel and looked at my Dad's inscription in one of the Memorial Books. There are four, all open at today's date. It's always puzzled me how they manage that and what they do when the books are full up. Does anybody know?
Forth and final stop was Hobbycraft as OH wanted some old fashioned luggage labels for his car bits. Wasn't sure they would stock them so was pleased when I found some.

Really tired by the time I got home and ready for lunch, which included a lovely Apple and Raisin Danish from OH - bliss with a cup of coffee!

          Evening everyone.

I really can’t believe that we are at the end of November - how did that happen?!

I have a PJ weekend planned and I must order a few presents online as time is ticking! I think I know what I want, but am having trouble finding The Traitors board game in stock anywhere!

Have a pleasant evening and lovely weekend folks.

Pleased to read that everything seems to be under control @lizzie27 - great to get your ECG done there and then. I am signing off for today - will be going to read once I have watched GW. Hoping for a decent sleep too.

I have spent time with the chooks, cleaning food and water bowls, replenishing feeders, dumping a barrowload of chipped wood in front of the hen house as it's a mud bath at the mo. The poorly one is much better and I found her in the shed eating from their feeder but very wary of the others so she's tucked up in the polytunnel again so she has a peaceful night.

As it was drismal, tho warm, I retreated indoors at 4:30 to sew mushrooms for the winter garland.

@Ergates If it's not too late you can google for free kimono patterns and there's a Youtube thingy too.

Enjoy your PJ weekend @AuntyRach. I don't do PJ's but I do do scruffy or schlepping clothes for days at home. Going out tomorrow tho - lunch, fabric shop, Vietnamese raid and an Xmas tree.

I hope all the tests go thru smoothly @lizzie27 and you get some answers soon.

So happy for the hens, they are in a safe place with you, @Obelix-Vendée!
I have looked on line for a kimono pattern and seen a couple of interest. Hadn’t thought of looking on YouTube.
The trousers are Twister Corduroy trousers from White Stuff, via John Lewis,( and collected from my local Waitrose!) They were well reduced in the sale, and I’ve ordered a second pair in navy. Not made in China is a big plus. I tend to live in cords in the winter, and these seem much more comfortable than the M and S version that I’ve been buying every winter for the last few years. They might be a slightly odd shape for some, but evidently I’m obviously the same slightly odd shape!
I do spend a lot of time in pyjama trousers! My going out clothes get hung up when I get home (unless we have ‘company’) and then I can relax or do housework without getting messed up. This afternoon, I’ve been wearing red tartan, slightly fleecy pants, pretty sure these were men’s PJs from Lidl! Very cosy! Bought for OH but rejected for being too warm. Shame, as he put on clean trousers today, and then, according to him, the mince pie he was eating ‘exploded’. More laundry!

Good morning all. Oh my goodness but your post about the exploding mince pie did bring a chuckle @Ergates. I'm willing to bet that we have all experienced something similar during our lives! Lovely news about the poorly chook @Obelix-Vendée.
I beat the milkman to it this morning. Opened door as usual to collect milk and empty bottle was still on the doorstep. An insistent Cricket was attended to as I mentally created an email. A flash of light in the Cres. made me re-open the front door and there was my pinta with the Christmas delivery dates and order sheet. Phew! More crafting for me today - I cannot believe how quickly the Christmas Fair date is approaching.

                    Good morning all.

I thinks it's quite mild outside but it looks very gloomy and windy.

Thank you @Ergates. I had a look at the cords but they aren't the right shape for me. I like high rise slim fit boot cut or mild flares. I was thinking that cords would be warmer than jeans in the winter.

Morning. I thought, when I opened my eyes, it was just gone 7, it was so dark and gloomy. It was actually 8.50!
Lovely evening with the outlaws - good company, good food and just enough wine to help it all along (and I'm not a wine afficionado!).
I like cords, too, and have black, navy and brown Marks ones. My 'slobbing kit' at home is leggings and fleeces.
My husband gets regular 'canteen medals'!

Sounds like my winter wardrobe, @Penny_Forthem. I also have M and S cords in navy, black, chocolate brown and bottle green. I’ve still got some khaki ones as well, but the colour has faded over the years to a rather muddy brown. Most I’ve had for years, and despite all being labelled as straight cut, the width of the legs seems to change each year. The narrower the legs get, the less they suit me. I’m not a fan of jeans, I like the really dark navy ones, but they don’t stay that colour long enough for me.
After my new purchases, I shall have to go through my wardrobe to make some room. I usually wear things to death, and then put them in my gardening clothes drawer. However, that is already full! Might have to force myself to consign some stuff to the ragbag, which is also full!
Hope all have an enjoyable weekend. We are supposed to be having a day at home because of the heavy rain, but the sun is now out, and the Met Office have cancelled today’s weather warning. This lends further credence to my theory that the meteorologists - based about 10 miles from here - have got into work and looked out of the window!

                          Evening folks.

I’ve had my PJ day, including some fresh air in the garden. I have plenty of ‘loungewear’ which is basically pyjama type trousers and fleecy tops. If I have a bra and mascara on then I feel just casual (rather than lazy!) but they also serve as PJs. Jeans aren’t particularly comfy are they? I have a pair of cords from Whitestuff but they are a bit short on me. I have loads of gardening clothes too, which are usually scruffy or old things.

I hope everyone is having a decent weekend. Take care.

Good evening. Very wet here today. After taking some sweetcorn and sunflower seeds to the chooks and drying both cats who'd had to go out in the rain we set off for La Roche for a curry in a restaurant that gets good reviews. Turns out it's the one we rejected when it first opened as the menu says no chillies in any dish tho they can be requested in some.

As it happens, they use all the spices that were traditional before the Portuguese arrived with chillies so my lamb "vandalou" was hot and spicy with ginger and black pepper and all sorts of other spices to round out the flavour. T'other pair chose butter chicken and lamb korma which we all shared along with a split yellow pea dahl. All very tasty along with garlic naans and samosas to start.

We then headed off to raid the Vietnamese store and then a quick trip to the fabric shop for some bits I need for my garland mittens and then we headed off for the Xmas tree which meant heading back past the main shopping centre. Guess who forgot it was black Friday weekend! Bad tempered, inattentive drivers inching along at snail place as people try to get into the parking area. Never again.

Home in time to check the chooks. The poorly one is much braver about exploring and has a very good appetite. She croons a lot when I'm there and is not at all bothered when I move around her. T'other lot still very wary but all doing fine with Floppy.

@Ergates I too change as soon as I get home and put on comfy stuff as I don't want cat hairs or cooking splatters or exploding mince pies.

Hello all. I was pleased to read that I am not the only one who changes into what I call 'my gardening scruff' when I get in from anywhere other than the garden of course. This gear consists of old fleeces and jogging pants. Easy to wash and dry and oh so comfortable. I finished off three strings of bunting today:
