It's my first Salvia farinacea, and I'm very happy with it. It's been flowering in spring, summer, and autumn. Now that winter is coming, I'm wondering what to do with it... I need your help... Should I prune it? How much? Should I leave it as is and prune it in February/March? Small shoots are appearing at the base, as you can see in the photo. The plant is in a pot. I'm in Spain, on the Mediterranean coast, where we don't get any frost. Thank you so much for your help!

    Ola @PzaMayor3

I pruned mine a couple of times a year to keep it tidy because I found it ungainly. After five years we got rid of it and bought a new one. It grew very fast here. I would cut yours back by at least one third, maybe half.

Cant help because I've only ever grown it as a half hardy annual.
But cutting back fairly hard does sound like a good idea.

Lucky you, no frosts. In England we throw them on the compost every year and buy or sow new ones in spring. In fact, I thought it was an annual!
