Merry Christmas @redstar and everyone else.

We've just had a very festive Christmas Eve dinner with my daughter who arrived this afternoon - egg, chips and beans - washed down with fizz of course. Don't ask me, it was her choice!
Chicken has been defrosted in the porch all day and is now popped into the fridge, mincepies were made this morning and I don't think I've forgotten anything.........

Her cat shot out of it's carrier and straight upstairs to his safe place, the bottom of the warm airing cupboard. Having sussed that out to his satisfaction he's now playing with one of his toys around our feet.

Feels like it's going to be a cold night.

Hope your mother will recover soon @Badly_Maintained and be able to have an enjoyable Christmas.

Happy Christmas Day, and a Happy Birthday to @Ladybird4!
Very cold here, hasn’t been above 2C since yesterday afternoon, and there has been a howling gale through the night.
But the sun is out, the Christmas lights are on, and it’s warm and snug inside.
I cooked the turkey yesterday, and made a trifle and 18 Yorkshire puddings, so the actual dinner preparation won’t take too long. I shall now have a relaxing morning.
Hope all goes well for everyone, minimum stress and maximum enjoyment! Best wishes to all.

To all the lovely people on here who have sent me birthday wishes. I am deeply appreciative. @Badly_Maintained I have to thank you too for the 'promotion'. I do have to say that the people who post on here are a grand bunch of like-minded people who can discuss many interests and hobbies and I do not think that we really need a captain as such - much as I am flattered by you suggesting that . We all work well together and everyone is valued. I do treasure your comment though.
I hope you have all had super days, that you got at least one gift that you wanted and I vote we all go round to @Penny_Forthem's and help her with the washing up!
