Congratulations @Ladybird4 , the family is ever growing :) Double celebration time round this time of year for the family. Must admit, I thought of The Good Life too but in a nice way :spinning:

      Congratulations @Ladybird4. Lots more celebrations!

I, too, am rather worried about Obelix's absence from the forum. It's been 8 days since she last posted. She did say her OH was off on a day golf trip and that they were going to Nantes on a Wednesday for the Xmas Market which is a fair distance from where I think they lived.

It may well be that their broadband/phones are down perhaps but I hope we hear from her soon.

We've had a lovely pub lunch out with family, meeting halfway to make the journeys easier.
Just relaxing now with DIY nibbles and more fizz for me.

Thank you all for your kind comments regarding my teeny great niece who isn't even a day old yet . I am signing out for this evening so I'll say good night, sleep well and sweet dreams. See you in the morning.

A very good, frosty (here anyway) morning to you all. Late text from First Time Grandma (my youngest sister) telling me she had left the 't' off new baby's name so she is now Margot - even more thoughts of The Good Life  I intend having another quiet day here but it is my oldest sister's birthday and I might pop down to see her but I know that, like me, she prefers doing absolutely nothing on her birthday. I tell you what, December becomes more and more expensive as there are so many birthdays in this month for me. I am not moaning as I love it! Hope you all have wonderful days.

@Tui34 my cats have always loved boxes and there is nothing funnier watching how they interact when I leave them on the floor for them to explore. They do not seem to have any perception of their own size though and watching Cricket trying to get into a box that is way too small for him is hilarious. I once had a cat who poked his head inside one of those square tissue boxes and then panicked when he couldn't get his head back out. He dashed about bumping into everything. Luckily I was handy and managed to rescue him and give him consoling cuddles. That did actually upset me too and I made sure he didn't ever have access to similar boxes again.

                Good morning all.

                Frost and clear sky here.

We go back to Norfolk today. I hope the traffic isn't as bad as the journey here.

My daughter's cat likes dirty washing baskets. This is yesterday.

Morning all. A glorious, but chilly day.
No cooking today, as we're meeting friends for lunch in the local.
@obelix is taking a short break and thanks you for your concerns.

Good Morning all. Chilly and bright here.

That’s a beautiful name @Ladybird4 - I hope all is well for your great niece and family.

Take care if anyone is out and about or travelling today. I’m picking up a top-up shop today but that’s about it. I’ll do a leftovers sort out then so expect it will be an eclectic assortment of food today to use up the bits and bobs.

Woke to a bright but chilly morning. Then went back to sleep until 10am! Will pop out later for a top up shop, I might take a walk round the block for a stretch, then do a final dust round before
Visitors arriving this evening. Glad everybody seems to have survived Christmas. Seems to be a long time coming, but gone so quickly!

                        Hello to you all!

We have sun! It came out about 11am and looks here to stay!! I hope it will dry out some of those flooded homes.

Congratulations are in order @Ladybird4 and to the parents of the newcomer!! How lovely! I'm glad @Obelix is all right and enjoyed the Christmas market....and not too cold.

Last day of leftovers today. I biked over to Lidl for some bread and found some persimmons (which I adore - well ripened) and some Pak Choy - not always available.

A little bit of gardening this afternoon. The canna look in dire straits, to I will cut them down and the very last tomato plant is finally black!! A bit of weeding. Be nice to do an hour in the sun.

I wish you all a pleasant weekend and maybe the sun will come out for you!

Finally "The Thank you card" arrived from the Wedding we attended in Long Beach, California end of August.

Just want to share with you the picture they chose for the front of the Thank you card. WThankYou.jpg The first thing that came to mind was I bet Sigmund Freud would have a grand time with that photo.

Good afternoon all. @Busy-Lizzie I love the picture of your daughter's cat. A friend of mine sent a picture of the cat who thinks it lives with her as well as with its real owners, curled up asleep on a duvet she had draped over a chair in her conservatory to air it.
Tomorrow I am hoping to get out into the garden - weather permitting - just for a little bit of a tidy up. I noticed more and more bulbs peeping through. Going to sign out for today so I wish you all peaceful nights and I'll catch up with you all tomorrow.

We are back in Norfolk. Awful journey again. Took ages to get onto the M25. Google maps tried to take us through a housing estate to afford the jam before the Dartford Tunnel. Only problem was that it told everyone else too! Took 1 1/2 hours longer than usual.

House was only 11C but it felt warmer than our unheated bedroom at DIL's. They don't heat upstairs at all. It's warming up nicely here now. Wood burner and CH are lit.

We'll watch the Midwives tonight after dinner. I'll make something with pasta and prawns, quick and easy.

Like many before me, I suspect, I have been going round in ever decreasing circles.
I have been trying to access the O2 help website; I tell them my SIM isn't working; they say they can help, but they must verify my account and are sending a code to my account; it doesn't arrive. Why? Because my SIM card isn't working...Rinse and repeat.
I am going to have to go to an O2 store or similar.
                                Frustrating day.
