    Hello Winter.jpg
A very good morning one and all. Aaaaarrrrgh @Penny_Forthem I empathise with your ever decreasing circle trying to sort out your SIM problem. Technology is all well and good until it goes wrong. Bit like the fun I've been having with my printer. I give it a task to do - one it has managed for ages - and all of a sudden it decides to print EVERYTHING in invisible ink despite the cartridges registering as 'good'. Going to seek a large branch to beat it with!
Apart from that, all is fairly tranquil in the Ladybird house.

All fairly tranquil here, too. Just had a phone call (on landline) to confirm the arrival of our new dish washer later.
I see snow has appeared in the forecast for this week, mainly up in the hills, which means the caravan will cop for it.
Our meal out yesterday with friends was perfect from the company point of view, but rather disappointing foodwise. We think the B team was in the kitchen and, although our fish was perfect, hub's meal was under or over cooked depending on the veg and I complained about my plate having a large chip out of the rim. It wasn't enough to actually put us off going in future, as we've had excellent meals there recently, so we'll put it down to Christmas.
Anyway, I have a most pleasurable job for later; perusing the seed catalogues!

        Good morning all.

It’s a bit dull and uninspiring here but I must get some fresh air and do a little walk today. I have two new books - one is an almanac about the seasons and one is an almanac of the night sky. The seasons one is facts about each month re the weather, plants, folklore etc. There’s a podcast which accompanies.
        https://ffern.co/podcast
The night sky one is about what you can see each month (only eyes or binoculars needed) and moon cycles etc.

I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday, whatever you are doing.

Morning everybody, relatively quiet here this morning - son is still in bed, he was so disappointed with the results of the rugby game yesterday, I think he doesn't want to get up and face the day! My daughter's getting ready to go out, we are thinking of hitting the sales in town later and OH is braving the cold to fetch the paper - he must have his fix of a daily crossword.

I hope we don't get snow down here @Penny_Forthem, I don't do snow! Shame about the meal but I expect restaurant staff are on their knees by now. The landlord at the pub we ate in on Boxing Day certainly looked exhausted and that was even before they officially opened at 12.

Your books sound very interesting @AuntyRach, enjoy your walk later.

Printers have a mind of their own don't they, @Ladybird4? Hope yours respond to your commands.

A quiet morning here. Overcast and dull but daughter and husband are here. A walk later, and then a Sunday roast with Christmas trimmings. Sadly daughter in law has done her back, and in is a lot of pain. Scans lined up for midweek, so we won’t be seeing them and grandsons after all. Will arrange a get together when things hopefully improve.
The sim I ordered for my new phone still hasn’t arrived, so I can’t use it yet. My old one seems to be functioning still, although I tried to check how much credit I have on it, and the phone top up line says it doesn’t recognise me! As long as they don’t switch off the 2G until the new phone is working, I should be able to cope!

Sunday morning, 8:30 am. still working on coffee. Gray skies. show from yesterday melted. will get up to 40 degrees F. here. Just the usual stuff today. Recently got into a silly comedy show with many episodes on You Tube called Corner Gas keeps me amused.
              Take care all.

                Good morning all.

We went to church. It was the leaving service for our popular curate. He's been given a parish in North Norfolk, with a field for his wife's sheep . They are expecting their 3rd baby in 2 weeks and hope to move first. The church was nearly full and there was Prosecco and bacon rolls or sausages and coffee and Christmas cake afterwards. Now we don't have a vicar or a curate, but we do have 2 retired lady priests for the 9 churches in the Benefice.

Good afternoon all. It was good to read the news about your dish washer
@Penny_Forthem. Maybe, by now, it is already installed. I would most definitely have been put off if I was served food on a chipped plate. @AuntyRach I have an App on my phone called SkyView. Held under night skies it names all the constellations viewed. It proved to be very entertaining for my great nieces and nephews when they were a lot younger and we used to go away for family holidays during the February half terms. Sorry to hear about your DIL's back @Ergates. I have had back problems in the past and I know how debilitating it can be. It sounds as if the curate had a good send off @Busy-Lizzie.
