BTW, I have used sky view too but became a little suspicious of it's accuracy. One bright night the app was telling me the moon was to the East side of our house when it was clearly in view to the west side with the naked eye. In fairness it may be more to do with the position accuracy of the phone not sure really.

      Morning all.

I love my smartwatch. Not sure it accurately records all my steps though and it thinks I’m exercising if my heart rate goes up. It’s quite revealing how many steps you have to do to burn a meagre amount of calories - about 2500 steps to burn just 100 calories often!

Sounds like we might have a cold January so I might swap the bedrooms round as the ‘spare’ room is a tad warmer as in the middle. This will involve moving some wires, lamps, TV and all my beside gubbings. Good excuse for a tidy up and vacuum?? Eek!

      Have a good day everyone.

        Good afternoon ladies & gentlemen.

Congratulations to you and your family on the arrival of Margo @Ladybird4 ! Hope your printer troubles are now behind you.

Hope the new dishwasher brings long and trouble-free service @Penny_Forthem .

Last night was the coldest night I can remember without waking up to frost in the morning. An entirely overcast but dry day today.

A couple more snowdrops are blooming. Any time ever witnessed this before it tended to be in February.

        Have a wonderful day everyone.

Thanks @Badly_Maintained. Some of my snowdrops are beginning to bloom, a very uplifting sight on a cold day.

It was dry but not windy on our usual morning walk but it's probably the last for me for the next few days due to the forecasted very cold weather. I did over 4000 steps so very pleased.

After coffee and Christmas cake when we got back. I togged up in a double layer of outer clothes and tried to sweep up all the remaining birch leaves which the wind had swept into all the awkward nooks and crannies on the terrace. I was glad to come in after an hour or so! I also bubble wrapped a terracotta pot which I wasn't sure was frost proof.

I am going to return the PJ's I bought yesterday - decided I really didn't like them much, navy top was far too big and the tartan checked trousers were in a different horribly cheap fabric. I despair with M & S these days but there's not much choice for my age group.

Thank you @Badly_Maintained, I hope so too. Hub has pronounced he's 'impressed'.
I also have a working SIM! The O2 store in Broughton was empty and the new Sim was created as if by magic. And I even got a parking space outside. I didn't feel the need to go into any of the other brightly lit, glossy emporia and spend money!
The good ol' beeb has covered itself in glory and forecast days of snow ahead, while the Met office has none. The very reliable North Wales storm watch seems to confirm the beeb's forecast. I await the arrival (or not) of the white stuff!!

I agree with you about M&S @lizzie27. I have grumbled about them here too.

We went to M....sons SM this morning for food for the week. It was probably less crowded than usual.

This afternoon we watched TV, film North by Northwest with Cary Grant, and read. This evening we'll watch the second half of El Cid.

              Quiet sort of day.

@lizzie, I, too, agree about M and S. In the good old days you could always guarantee that the quality was good and items would last for ages. The quality has gone now and a lot of the garments are geared towards the younger generation. The material of some garments are horrible to the touch. I am finding it increasingly difficult to find somewhere which sells cotton garments. I don’t like the majority of materials that garments are made of nowadays.

I am another 'what on earth has happened to M&S' people and agree with everything that has been said about random sizing, poor quality materials and, quite frankly hideous, old fashioned and over priced clothing. Rant over.
@Badly_Maintained I have bitten the bullet and decided to go for a new printer - same make but a more up to date model. We have snow forecast for this weekend and it would be nice to see a little covering of the stuff but its too late to make everywhere feel Christmassy.
I am signing out for today. See you all tomorrow.
