Good afternoon everyone. Something very odd has just happened on here. I typed a reply, posted it and it appeared twice. I deleted one of them but they both went. Here I go again! I had just commiserated with @lizzie27 and said what a hero her neighbour had been. Then - and this is where the spookiness must have happened - I wrote to @Ergates to say I could hear the X-Files theme tune in my head when reading about the TV. Fingers crossed that this message will get posted successfully!

Cold here too but not as cold where you are. We had -0°C this morning and set to be the same tomorrow morning. No wind, but a dismal grey sky that looks like snow - but not forecast.

We are toasty inside after a nice bit of roast lamb and roast vegetable, settled on the couch for a round of backgammon and a film. I put Fizz's bed out every day to air, and she sits on it like a princess on her throne!!

No worries @Ladybird4 but I just get fed up with people saying that Australia is the first to see the new year in. Glad that you have heating and hot water now @lizzie27 - cold even with electric heaters. How ever did we manage in those days of yore!!?

What a jolly useful neighbour to have @lizzie27. Glad the problem was so easily sorted.
I have found in the past that the TV switched on as if my magic, only to find a dog lying on the remote, but as @Ergates doesn't have a K9 pal, it's a most odd occurrence.
Talking of odd occurrences, I got home after a lovely lunch with friends, to find that I'd been 'suspended from FB for contravening their standards', but I don't know how or why, so I appealed.
And hey presto, it appears I haven't contravened anything and they've 'restored' my page. Phew. But why did they do that? It baffles me (but then a lot of life does!)

 

Good evening everyone and a very Happy New Year to one and all. Some very weird happenings to some on here, most odd. I don’t like it when electrical things start playing up or turn themselves on, very spooky.
I’m having trouble with this site since I’ve got a new ipad. It keeps chucking me out when I shut the site down and I have to sign in all the time. Have one last trick to try, thanks to Tidemark, and if that doesn’t work I’ll have to summon those from on high on here! My technological knowledge only goes so far.

 

It does seem as if some rather odd things are going on. Hope you get the signing in glitch sorted @Songbird. I have spent a lot of time today doing something I should have done yesterday and that is transferring birthdays, anniversaries and appointments to my new calendar. This runs a close second to my most unfavourite job - putting the duvet cover back on the duvet. At least its done now and as I always manage to leave something important off I have time to do running repairs to it as and when needed.

 

Well the first day of 2026 has passed without too much fuss and it is time for me to sign out now. I will see all you lovely lot tomorrow. I hope you all have restful nights - especially those who stayed up to midnight and beyond. Night night everyone.
