Cyclamen (coum I think) and eranthis. Sorry it's blurry but at least they're flowering! IMG_20260112_161252374.jpg

Around the garden today, the morning sun is lighting up the dried grasses.

@stephenprudence I'm sorry, you've got an error in your location for your account page. You can't be in the Wirral and have an abutilon still flowering!:rolleyespink:

I've always understood the Wirral to be one of the mildest parts of the country.

I've seen abutilon flowering now around here as well. One was the hardier A. megapotamicum and another the less hardy Kentish belle, despite us having temperatures below what it is commonly rated for.

Thank you @Plantminded , what an offer!
More seriously, I've just looked it up, and my garden is barely 30m above sea level, and 4.5 miles from the nearest beach, and faces south. Yet I only have kniphofia Christmas Cheer, snowdrops, eranthis and cyclamen in flower. All my herbaceous plants stopped before December. Amazing how different our microclimates are in the UK. (And even more different to those in continental areas).

Dear Admin, can we get an envy icon?
Seeing @Plantminded and @stephenprudence ’s garden, a Like is not really all what I feel seeing their wonderful garden and pictures :)

I think how well plants fair is more to do with the first real cold weather. You could live in a warmer microclimate but if you have an earlier cold snap, the plants have already shut down. We had bedding fuchsia's flowering until the recent snow but there isn't a lot else looking happy in the garden at the moment.
