    Good morning to you all!!

Rain is forecast so Fizz and I have been out and I have been down to the markets - food side was rather sparse for a Friday.

Physio this afternoon, so I hope the rain holds off until I get back. Didn't do my exercises yesterday as the pain was too intense and I thought it may be better to hold off. Hands were painful too, so it could be the forthcoming rain.

Glad that Cricket is better - maybe he pulled a ligament @Ladybird4
You're in for a pleasant weekend @Busy-Lizzie although I imagine the energy and vibration of a family weekend will zap you. Trust Cedric's dental work is in good hands.
You seem to be better @AuntyRach even walking to the car helps.

I wish everyone a reasonable Friday. Deep breathing for stress if necessary!!!

Hello all, slept better last night after feeling not very well for the last 24 hours, just a tummy upset I think. Sunny but frosty morning again but then got warmer so I zapped over to B & Q via a local GC. I'm trying to find a new Fiskars lopper in a small ladies size but they don't seem to be available any more. I ended up with a cheap version for the time being so I'll see how long that lasts. I did enjoy a mooch around the sale stuff and came home with a bucket full (literally) of goodies.

Great excitement here (especially me!) OH has sold one of his old cars - the one that hasn't moved out of the garage for ten years and doesn't now go of course. Hope we can get it out of the garage somehow.

It must be very handy having a son who's a dentist @Busy-Lizzie. Hope you enjoy your family get together and that the grand-daughters recover soon.

That's good news about Cricket @Ladybird4.

Hope the physio isn't too painful @Tui34. I've got a back and shoulder massage booked for tomorrow which I'm hoping will help my dodgy shoulder.

        Afternoon all.

I had my daily walk with my sister’s dog today - so that was enjoyable. I did some ‘manners’ training when we passed through woodland gates or needed to ‘pull in’ to let someone pass. Mostly successful.

The weekend is upon us. I collected some shopping today so just deciding whether (I can be bothered) to make a curry for dinner tonight.

I hope the weekend brings something to relish for you all - be that delicious food, good company, an enjoyable activity or just a non-rainy day.

A shame when family live far away, especially as we get older and less mobile. To live nearer our children, we would have to give up our proximity to the sea. I’d probably settle for a river or canal though, if it had waterside walks. Might be better for wildlife and birdwatching, Lyme Bay is rather lacking in visible sea life, and not even the occasional boat to add some interest.
We did our steps along the promenade today, quite a bit of sun. There was one sudden and really heavy rain shower, but luckily, we were in a coffee shop when that happened. Day 3 of taking the statin in the morning, but no obvious reduction in the vivid dreams. In fact the first night was quite bad, missed three trains and ended up in tears, which woke me up. Wasn’t actually crying in real life, but had to sit up and read for a bit to clear my brain. Maybe I should start a thread for sharing dreams! I know it can be quite boring hearing about other people’s dreams, but I would be interested in knowing what information you dig up, @AuntyRach.
Green bin day next week, but I’m struggling to get enthusiastic about doing any clearing up outside. Very happy to see some flower buds developing on the Daphne I planted near the back door. Hopefully we might get rewarded with some fragrance before much longer.
It would be very handy if one of my children had become a dentist! However, I don’t think it is such an interesting profession these days, seems to have become very commercialised, and I found the business side of it could be very stressful.
Cod in batter for dinner, with a side of pigs in blankets from the freezer!

We've been out for lunch to a lovely pub near Chester, which had a half price offer on for mains. I had a really super piece of salmon, with crushed new potatoes and tenderstem in a white wine and king prawn sauce. OH had an excellent pizza. They are repeating the offer next week, so we might avail ourselves again.
A bargain! No dinner required tonight.
We have one front door quote in, but the other company hasn't contacted us to arrange to come and view/measure up. They have till early next week, then they'll have missed their chance.
Exciting news re the car @lizzie27 - but will he buy another, that is the question?
Have a lovely weekend with family @Busy-Lizzie. Another get together will be on the cards soon, I hope.

Good evening everyone. I had a short walk in the garden as I have 3 lovely shrubs in bloom and I wanted to see how open the flowers were. I will take pictures tomorrow. The three are a chimonanthus, a sarcococca and a hamamellis. It was very cheery to see them after so many grey days. I then had to get my new printer set up. What a faff! Why they can't just make them 'plug and play' I just don't know. Anyway, all is fine now but that is a few hours of my life I won't see again! I did think long and hard about HW but decided it could wait for another day. Had a long chat with one of my sisters as we always seem to have a load of catching up to do and then I did a few more cm of scarf knitting whilst mentally composing a shopping list. Gosh but my life is a laugh a minute!
@Tui34 I hope that today's physio hasn't exacerbated the pain you have been experiencing. That really sounds dreadful, and in a similar vein I really hope tomorrow's massage helps to ease your shoulder @lizzie27. I expect that the loppers won't help all that much with the pain. Exciting news about one of your OH's cars too. @AuntyRach, I know you were practising YOUR manners but how did the dog do? :) @Ergates, hearing about your dreams is better than the telly! @Penny_Forthem, it is so annoying when firms/people don't get back to you when they say they will. It will be interesting to see if they do get in touch with you. Your meal sounds delicious.

Well I am going to bid you all good night now. Hope you all have sweet dreams - especially @Ergates. See you all tomorrow.
