This sarcococca is also in the back garden - very near to the back door. Still got last year's berries on it - the blackbirds have probably been deterred by Cricket. Again the most wonderful of perfumes.

Those winter shrubs are delightful, @Ladybird4 ! Thank you.
Memo to self: plant a hamamelis...

Gorgeous pictures @Ladybird4. A very cheering sight, especially during the duller weather.

Great pictures @Ladybird4 , we got a lovely waft of scent from the Sarcoccus in the front garden when we came back from the SM shop.

@AuntyRach , my nightmares were definitely related to the increased dose of the old statin. They stopped as soon as I stopped taking them. Pleased to say my GP put me on one of the modern ones which I take at breakfast time. No more issues.

Beautiful Hamamellis @Ladybird4, I must have a look at mine tomorrow to see if it's beginning to flower but it's a bit early. Likewise the sarcococca. I did notice the Daphne's perfume when I was walking up the drive - beautiful.

Had a really strong massage this morning which I'm beginning to feel! Might need a painkiller or 2 later on. Managed to prune another five roses just before my appointment which I'm pleased about as I was told very firmly (as expected) to do nothing this afternoon.

The flowers today were very cheering. I am going to say good night now and see you all in the morning. I hope that painkiller works for you @lizzie27!

Today was one appointment after another, starting with our preferred door suppliers.
Then the hair chair as she's going to Aus for a wedding for 4 weeks, taking her 92 year old father and 87 y.o. aunt.
They're stopping over at Hong Kong. Exciting but daunting.
This afternoon was even more boring: a massive tip trip and Aldi.
I know, you're all jealous of my jet set life.

Good morning everyone. My goodness @Penny_Forthem - you went to ALDI?? :wow: Be still my beating heart! I can see drops of water on my windows so I think it may be drizzling outside - I'll know better when it gets light and this might thwart my plans for that garden tidy up I've been threatening since November. Whatever is in your plans for today - make it a good one.

                    Good morning all.

There was a lot of excitement from the children at present opening time yesterday. The younger children are having breakfast, older ones are asleep. We are having coffee in bed.

                    We'll go home after lunch.

                        Morning.
I was so tired, I slept till 9.45. Dogs were so quiet!
However, they disgraced themselves last night (or one of them did) by grabbing my glasses off the arm of the chair; I didn't see, and trod on them. They are now bent out of shape (the glasses, not the dogs).
                        Are the children bilingual, @Busy-Lizzie?
I like our Aldi @Ladybird4, it's bright, modern, well stocked and the staff are helpful - and usually, not very busy.
We're having the last of the Christmas goose tonight, though I've drawn the line at accompanying it with pigs in blankets!
I wonder how @Obelix-Vendée is. I hope we hear from her soon.

Slept till nearly 9am, probably because it was still so dark out this morning. It’s been drizzling, so I’m extra glad I headed out to the garden yesterday. I did an hour and a half clearing the leaves off the path up the garden, enough to completely fill a green bin. Now the path is cleared, I can safely head up to attack some of the overgrown shrubs at the top of the hill. Felt very virtuous.
How annoying about your glasses, @Penny_Forthem.
I’m not a fan of Aldi, much prefer Lidl. We did pop into our local one last week, I came home with a pack of three vests for just over £3, while OH bought some chocolate. They had lots of interesting tools, but OH already has all the ones he has a use for (and quite a few he bought just in case!)
Hope you are feeling better, @Allotment Boy. I’m still having dreams, but not distressing, and seem to be fading quickly from my memory as I wake up.
Hope all enjoy the remains of the weekend.

                            Afternoon everybody.

I also slept in! It’s really dark, drizzly and misty here but I have braved it for my walk. Not as many dog walkers out today.
I’ve been listening to the Traitors podcasts and there’s a soundtrack one too.

I’ll just change from my ‘walk trousers’ and head to see MIL to do her pedicure. Gratitude by way of home-baked goods usually.

I hope everyone is doing ok and having a lovely Sunday.

It's now so dark I nearly typed 'Good Evening'!

It's been horrible today, foggy and drizzly so that put paid to my gardening plans. I did tog up and prune 2 more roses but gave up very quickly in the rain. Walked to meet OH on his way back from the shops just to get some exercise in.

Our two Green bins are also full @Ergates and hopefully will be collected on Thursday.

I've booked a haircut for tomorrow which means a trip into town and a mooch around. I've also got to return a pack of socks to M&S as I didn't realise they were cushioned ones.

I very rarely pop into either Aldi or Lidl as they are not on my usual routes but occasionally like to scout the centre aisles.

Have a good journey back @Busy-Lizzie.

What a nuisance about your glasses @Penny_Forthem. I have to be careful as my glasses often slide off my little table and end up in the waste paper basket!

                                Good evening to you all!

It has been raining non-stop since yesterday morning and there are flood warnings abound as the rivers near here, rise. I am high and dry.

Thank you @Busy Lizzie, dampness doesn't help painful joints - my physio was very nice about it. Just one of those days. My sister asked if I take anything for the bursitis. I don't. Mainly because the pain is only caused by movements - stairs etc. Standing on my pins is pain-free. I suppose you are back home and warm by now.

No walk today, as Fizz is a bit smelly and wet dogs and smelly are not good company!! We'll venture out for a walk tomorrow as biking around here is just slushy mud in some places.

Hunkered down for the evening so will see what's on. I watched Banjo and Ro's Grand Island Hotel - so may continue to watch that. I like their dog!!

Happy Sunday evening to you all.
