Hello there! My day today will comprise of re-sorting all the 'stuff' I moved out of the way and using the opportunity to ditch much of the 'unused for at least a year' items that seem to have accumulated in my cupboard under the stairs a.k.a the black hole. I found several virtually empty containers of various cleaning agents that need to go and that is just for starters. Wish me luck everyone.

          Good morning to you all!!

It was a dark and stormy night.....last night but the sun is shining this morning and the wind is still.

I started some digging over yesterday and will do some more weeding today. Very satisfying to pull weeds that come out easily down to the roots. Wouldn't it be lovely if they didn't grow again? A bit like shark's teeth!!

Thank you @AuntyRach I shall endeavour to solve these puzzles this week. Thank you for your efforts!

A bike run now followed by some digging will be my morning done. Homework help for the youngsters this afternoon and day's done!!

I wish you all a pleasant day.

            Good morning all.

I'm glad your new boiler is up and running @Ladybird4.

My HW is more or less up to date but my filing of paper work isn't. I hate paper work. There is a great pile of it on the dresser so I started to sort it yesterday. A lot was thrown awayable but I found a letter from the French health service asking me to go to the pharmacy to collect a kit for a free poo test and also a form from the bank asking me to sign it and send it back to the bank. Only done about a third of it.

However, the forecast says it will be sunny today so I will be be in the garden looking for somewhere dry enough to do something.

              Morning all.

Great news about the boiler, @Ladybird4 , though having to sort out the cupboard under the stairs is definitely something of a downer. Luck sent your way...

I'm a bit jealous of anyone able to do gardening at the moment!

The afternoon should be drier than this morning, so I'm putting off my walk to the shops until after lunch. This morning's job is to try to remove the hard glue from the frame of the little Parker Knoll chair I'm trying to repair. It belonged to my mother-in-law, and is particularly comfortable for me - a small chair with no arms, ideal for a short woman who does a lot of knitting (ie me!)... It's around 70 years old, so it's not surprising that the eyelet tape holding the springs is collapsing. Grandchildren bounced on it at Christmas so repair became urgent. However, replacement tape is unobtainable, so I'm having to replace the springs with special elastic strapping, sold for upholstery, so it should work ok... fingers crossed!

Went to the doc's this morning and she has suggested a cortisone injection in my knee. Has anyone here had any experience with them? I am to be referred to a doc who can do them. I don't think they're quite as straightforward as an 'ordinary' injection.
Not long after we got back, the 'outlaws' dropped in for a cuppa on their way back from hospital.
We are to pick the g'kids up after school, so the Thai green curry has been slung together to go in the oven on a timer. It was going to e a satay stirfry, but I don't have the time (or energy) to prep/cook it.
                Miserable out there today.

@Penny_Forthem, my Bestie's Mum has them regularly in both knees and has done for many years. She finds that they really help her and she was 91 on 1st Feb. so there is hope for us yet. She hasn't had any replacement joints. It has been miserable here too. I had considered doing a wash load but when I took some stuff out to the bin, it was so cold that I put that idea on the back burner. When I was having my breakfast this morning, I heard the cat flap and assumed it was Cricket. How wrong was I? In strolls Cutey Cat like he owns the joint, walks straight passed me and goes off upstairs. I went after him but of course he could have been anywhere so I went back to breakfast and Cutey Cat appeared shortly then went out through the cat flap as he realised his mate was not at home. There was then a bit of a pantomime as Cricket came in and the two of them spent a few minutes batting each other through the cat flap. This is a clear door so the batting didn't really do much - apart from amuse me. I will have to get my water sprayer handy for tomorrow in case he decides to visit again and I will shut the door leading to the stairs. He does look comic with his tail missing like a mop on legs. Years back I had a little cat, Tigger, who had to have his tail amputated after a knock from a car. Once his fur grew back I used to smile at how the remaining bump on his rear still twitched when he saw the birds through the window.

@Penny_Forthem I've had Cortisone injections in my thumbs and in my shoulder, but it was some years ago. My GP gave me local anaesthetics. The thumbs were OK and worked but the shoulder didn't work very well and the injection was a bit painful but bearable. The thumbs weren't painful, just a bit of pressure.

It's been a lovely sunny day. I've spent 4 hours in the garden with a break for lunch. Four more of my roses are planted along the donkey paddock fence, but that area isn't as wet as the rest. I weeded the orchard fence bed, which was a lot wetter but needs must. I pruned rose Blush Noisette, which is growing up an obelisk.

                      Good evening everyone.

I’ve heard the steroid injections can be good @Penny_Forthem, although I think @Tui34 had a painful experience.

How lovely that you did some gardening in good weather @Busy-Lizzie - I’m looking forward to making a start but it’s way too cold and soggy yet.

@Ladybird4 - you certainly have some cat dramas! They are such cheeky creatures!

Sounds like a worthwhile project @Liriodendron. I really wish we had kept a lovely wooden rocking chair my Grandmother had - it had a lovely material covering like a ‘Welsh Blanket’ (bold geometric) - very 1950s.

I hope everyone is doing ok.
Making a mid-week chicken dinner so there will be plenty to put a dinner or two for Dad. Have a pleasant evening folks.

@Penny_Forthem I had a steroid injection in my knee about 3 months ago. It was done by the musculoskeletal practitioner at the GP surgery. It wasn't particularly painful, didn't take very long, and I was able to drive home afterwards. However, I haven't actually noticed much difference - I have arthritis. He did say it could take a few months before it had any effect so I'm still hoping! I used to have them in my thumbs, done at the hospital, and they were more painful but definitely worked.
