    Good morning all.

I hope you recover quickly from your cold @Tui34.

The log man is here, stacking logs. Normally he dumps them by the car port and we stack them but his lorry has broken down so he's brought the logs in a van so he can't tip them out. He has offered to stack them free of charge. Hurray!

Cedric dropped and trod on his spare reading glasses so we are going to town to get some from a pharmacy. There are a couple of things I forgot yesterday as I left my shopping list in the kitchen so we'll go to Tesco as well.

We're just back from the dentist, just a very minor thing for both of us as well as the usual check up. Rather cool and very blustery here, after a busy week on Allotments Monday and Tuesday Capel Manor yesterday, my arms will appreciate the rest. :)

Hello. Cloudy here now and cool but it has been sunny. had a reply form OH overnight and now have Sally's battery on charge. He'd hidden the charger in the garage and not in the "car" box in the cave so I would never find it.

Can't work on the garage roof till I can move her and can't use nosiy bits till 2 pm so i'm havinga quiet cuppar after lunch and will then go and get noisy and mucky.

We're expecting heavy rain tomorrow while we do the weekly shop so sympathies to all stuck indoors and resorting to housework. Sympathies too for @Tui34's cold.

I've taken to having several pairs of reading glasses dotted about the place @Busy-Lizzie - sewing room, kitchen, living room, polytunnel, handbag - and buy them in Super U. Our local pharmacies have a small range and more expensive. Never tried to buy them in the UK.

Possum has just declared she wants to go to England because I have promised to take her to Chinatown for Dim Sum and she also wants to go to a proper tearoom.

Good afternoon everyone. Boy am I glad to be home. The yellow weather warnings here for severe winds were correct as there were lots of tree branches and other debris all over the roads on my journey home and I have just heard that Bestie has had to change her usual route to her dentist as a tree has come down on the road she travels on.
Sorry to hear about your cold @Tui34. Lets hope you manage to shake it off quickly. You will want to be fit for the new growing season. @Liriodendron your knit and natter group sounds like heaven - just the sort of thing I would love to do. I am thinking of knitting some little Easter eggs from my stash. We have a very graceful white painted tree branch in the Church hall which would be an ideal place to hang them. How very kind of your log delivery man giving you a lift with moving and stacking your logs @Busy-Lizzie. Be careful on that garage roof @Obelix-Vendée.

            Afternoon all.

It’s a horrible weather day here - just driven home with full wipers and lights on and the back windscreen wiper blade broke in protest. Just ordered one online as garage prices are silly and it’s so easy to DIY.

I’ve been into work today and I start back properly the week after next as I have some leave to use up for next week. This will guarantee rain next week and fine the week after! I wonder if we’ll have good weather over Easter?

You all sound busy so take care particularly if you are out and about or are feeling under-par.

I am very surprised they didn't name this one as a storm. The A55 beside the sea was very hairy and I was glad there were no high sided vehicles. I think the ferry was cancelled.
In all the time of going to this hotel (this must be our 10th time at least) we've never had an uncomfortable bed, till now. It wasn't that it was lumpy, just soft and when one of us turned over, the other one bounced. We deliberated asking to change rooms after the first night, but it seemed daft, just for one night. I mentioned it on checkout and will write a review.
Not heard anything yet about my friend's funeral.

I did wonder if you had heard anything @Penny_Forthem. Shame about the bed. Maybe it just needs a new mattress.
This picture of the monster giving me grief yesterday is taken from one of my bedroom windows looking across my neighbour's back garden:

That reminds me of the galopita galopita machine from the Jack Lemon 'comedy' film, 'How to murder your wife'!!

Well I don't know that film @Penny_Forthem but it would be a hideous way to go! The hopper where they put all the big lumps using a huge digger is that bit of the left and the crusher must be the mid section, The resultant finer material is spewed out by a conveyor belt at the other end.

That's a big machine @Ladybird4. Our turn to endure constant noise today as our NDN had his very tall overgrown hedge cut down by half. Chainsaws/pole cutters/chipper machine going like the clappers. Fortunately it was on the far side of their boundary and they packed up about 3 ish when it started to rain heavily. I would have liked the overly tall pyracantha hedge next to our drive trimmed down as well but didn't dare go round to ask.

I wonder if the hotel had put a memory foam mattress on the bed @Penny_Forthem. We eventually got rid of ours for the same reason, every time one of us moved it created a bouncy ripple movement.

Not sure about the Welsh situation but here there now has to be two Medical examiners to certify a death and you can't organise a funeral until they do. I believe there are delays in some districts. Hope you hear soon.

It's been a horrid afternoon, extremely windy with strong gusts and then heavy rain as well.
I did get the housework done though so pleased with that.

Make the most of your days off @AuntyRach, work will soon roll round!

Signing out for tonight - Cutey Cat has just popped in to say 'Hello' to Cricket. The pair of them have zoomed off in the garden but I don't think either of them will be out long. Its blowing a hooley out there and is cold with it plus there are intermittent blasts of rain. See you all in the morning. It's a Canasta day but I'll check the weather first. Going to start my egg knitting.

Good morning everybody. The wild winds of yesterday have calmed down a lot - still breezy but nothing like as scary. Enjoying a leisurely breakfast having seen to His Majesty. Hope everyone manages to achieve their goals for the day.

                            Good morning to you all!

Quick pop in before I start the day! It's sunny.

I imagine the noise that that monster cement eater is making @Ladybird4 I hope you have double glazing!!

That was handy that the log man only had the van @Busy-Lizzie Saves your back. Cold still clinging tenaciously!! S'only a head cold but no good for weeding!!

Be careful on that roof @Obelix-Vendée especially if there is nobody home in case the ladder disappears!! Good that you can clamber up there, but still.

Enjoy the last of your holidays @AuntyRach

I planted some parsley plants yesterday - much against my grain. My mother reckoned it brought on pregnancies (Irish ancestry) and my father-in-law used to say it brought on death. I have sown some as well. Anyway, there is little chance of my getting pregnant (maybe a neighbour) and I shall be doubly careful in the next few days!

I wish you all a pleasant Friday and Happy St. Pat's Day on Sunday.

Morning folks, I wondered when you were back home @Penny_Forthem, hope the journey wasn't too bad.

We had absolutely torrential rain overnight with strong gusty winds and I hadn't done my customary quick whip round to ensure nothing could get blown over/away in the garden. All the 'stuff' usually stacked behind the shed has been temporally piled in our 3 raised veg beds pending the new fence - in full view of the neighbours. Looks dreadful but nowhere else to put it.
Got to have a good sort out soon though as we will need to plant the potatoes!

Never heard those tales about parsley plants before @Tui34 - interesting and I echo your advice to @Obelix-Vendée about going up ladders when there's nobody else around - not a good idea.

Coffee and half a rather large Chelsea bun has been consumed so I'd better get togged up and get outside whilst it's stopped raining.
