If that fails you could try SBK its for woody plants and mix a bit of fairy liquid in with it only need a bit of fairy liquid probably what you'd use for washing up, it helps break down the waxy coating on ivy leaves for the treatment to penetrate

I used SBK to get rid of some ivy that a neighbour was moaning about. But I found where it was rooted, cut it off a few inches above, drilled several holes in the remaining woody stem and injected SBK mixed 50:50 with water.

As I have difficulty bending I use the blade part of this hoe for the moss on the driveway. It is part of the Wolf system where it clips into their long handle. I just turn the hoe over and it scrapes the moss off quite well.

I finished all the rest of the mowing yesterday as the wild area will now be left until the seeds set in late summer. After finishing the other lawns I just mowed paths around the wild area. At one side of the wild area I have the compost heaps and also our bonfire area so that area needed mowing. That grass was around 12" high and 40' x 15' and took a long time as it took four lots of mowing on different heights.

It is two days since having the bonfire and it is still smouldering but a lot of the tree that fell down has burnt.

I continued pressure washing paving - just a couple of hours.

Cleaned and laid the black plastic, 22' x 4', on the paving alongside the greenhouse which is one of our nursery areas. The best way to clean the plastic was to lay it on the lawn and pressure wash it and then leave it to dry in the sun. The hardest part of that, for me, was putting the plastic back because of having to bend for it so Mrs Shiney helped me.

I also pressure washed two benches ready for Mrs Shiney to paint them. She managed to get one done before running out of paint. She has also done a lot of weeding.

I have some Wolf system stuff, @shiney. Very good quality, I find, and the long pole attachment reduces bending. :blue thumb:

Repotted more lilies. I have various species lilies from seed and the bulbs end up very different sizes!

This one is enormous (my gloves give comparison). It possibly has multiple bulbs, but I'm not trying to separate them. I think it's testaceum - label missing again.

Sown yesterday while sitting on garden bench some more peppers for windowsill..long yellow ringo, chocolate sweet pepper+ sweet banana, only l of each as a bit late but says can be sown up to April, so will see what happens. l have never been able yet to grow peppers well. Sowed seeds of chinese cuc called 'slangen' and loads of white onion 'alibaba' again for windowsill as still nothing has germinated in greenhouse :( decided to place my sale bulbs in the white area afterall as just dont have any energy to pot them up in containers. Just had a quick look around garden as l hobbled out there to pick my flowers of the day for my vase ( another diff daffodil) Saw another one of my sale hellebores( ones still left in their pots till l see what colour they are) is bud showing..its looks as if its going to be a lovely maroon colour. And my lilly bulbs are coming through nk to the garden seat :)

Tidied up a corner where the new bird bath is. That corner was a collecting point for left over wooden branches and two tree stumps which were used by pigeons to land first there before they started drinking. After 5 years, the wood was rotting away and I didn't want that the pigeons got hurt. I gave them a "new" tree stump which is 100% secure.

More weeding, might be in a position to plant a few things by the weekend.
Fun part is finding that old friends are appearing and have come through the wet weather.

Planted 2 rhododendrons in the back garden in between the others, tried to dig up a old one but couldn't, it might grow back again but that will be ok.
