Back home for about 14 days then traveling again with car to Louisville, KY. Sasha did very well we got the points needed for the grand show in January. Not expected to win that one, there will be so many million dollar cars there, but the experience and for her resume and exposure for sale is awesome. Gardens look good expect for leaves still need to be raked. Anyway, here is a video from somebody, we get a lot of Pod people, or those with their own Car club etc. video tape her .

      Good afternoon to you all!

First of all a shout out to @Busy-Lizzie and Cedric for Alexa. A lumbar puncture made me wince. So ...... uncomfortable. A little prayer in her direction from me.

The swallows have arrived and can still manage to swoop despite the wind!! Very very windy still and very precarious on the bike. Sunny and 17°C this afternoon!! I am using the bike to do shopping at the SM, but cannot do 2 supermarkets at a time. I like Lidl for some things and Carrefour for others - like fresh fish, for example. Markets for eggs and butcher.

Diesel is going up daily and pumps are only allowed to raise the price once a day. My car is safely in the garage with half a tank. Saving it for necessary travel. It is at 2euros30/litre. I noticed there isn't a bun rush at the SM for staples, in fact - not even at the pumps. A lot of cars are now electric. First time diesel is more expensive than petrol. Same in NZ my sister tells me.

My friend from Montpellier left yesterday for a month's stay on a health farm for his respiratory problem - lung obstruction syndrome. He is high in the Pyrenees. It is paid for by the "National Health Insurance" system here - but you have to qualify of course. Exercises, walking, swimming and how to live with the syndrome. And a controlled diet - apparently, rather slim pickings as my mother would say.

I don't have the ID problem @Obelix-Vendée and @Busy-Lizzie as my husband was French; so I applied for citizenship way back. I have dual nationality.

I hope the blackbirds stay safe this year @Allotment Boy Those thugs of magpies are such a nuisance. We have them here but they don't make the same warbly pretty song that they do in NZ and Australia. Enjoy this special time with the family @Liriodendron - you can recover afterwards! Take it easy to @AuntyRach and everyone trying to find that hour we lost somewhere! I slept in until 8.30 this morning, so I think I'm good to go! I hope the weather is clement for Easter @Penny_Forthem

I hope the rest of the day is quiet and fulfilling for everyone.

I think the pink moon is named because it occurs when some American plant with pink flowers typically blooms at this time of year. I think we will be having a blue moon at the end of the month, it’s so called because it is the second full moon in the same calendar month. Sadly it won’t be blue!
I haven’t checked the local forecast for the weekend yet, but we have made the most of today’s sun and had a really long walk. Stocked up for Easter at the supermarket on the way home. It got really quite hot, but I think I’d seen mention of snow, and yet another storm, approaching the north west. Stay safe everyone.

We are well provisioned, having been to Aldi, farm shop and Tesco for petrol. No queues.
Farm shop had tasters of their own honey and mustard sausage rolls. We had to buy 2!
Friend is coming for coffee in the morning, so i also bought HXBs. Traditional fruity. Don't like the modern flavoured ones.
          Dogs have enjoyed their run.

I have been to Les Sables this am so Possum could takephotos of some hand-made quilts, wall panels, bags and "baskets" made by one of our more experienced and talented ladies. The photos are for the dossier we have to prepare for the local council to arrange an exhibition of all our doings. That, of course, involved cofee and cake and then off we went to the fabric shop to get the doings for Possum's sewing class project then a DIY store lookig for handles for her chest of drawers and finally home.

I now have 2 bowls of hot cross bun mix proving - traditional and fruity for OH and me, choco chip for Possum. If all goes well I can form the individual buns before we go to bed so they can prove overnight and then be baked first thing tomorrow and be ready for tasting when we get back from the weekly shop.

No cycling here @Tui34 - apart from the strong breeze it is definitely not flat here but my tyres are. We're also about to get the influx of holiday homers who drive round the local lanes at mad speeds so it's not safe during holiday periods. I hope the "cure" does your friend some good.

OH and Possum love sausage rolls too @Penny_Forthem and they too have to be home-made. The asparagus tart was really good - Herby asparagus & bacon tart. Griddled asparagus with baked trout for dinner tonight.

We had clouds last night @Ergates so no moon at all and it is set to stay cloudy for 3 more days then wall to wall sunshine on Monday and 20+C. Lovely.

              Hello all.

We are back in Norfolk. The holiday traffic is starting up so we decided to leave our friends and come home.

There was no point going to see Alexa this morning as she was having another lumbar puncture. She had one yesterday morning, then slept until the afternoon. We sat with her and talked softly to her husband while she slept. We only saw her awake for 1 1/2 hours awake but she was better than the day before and managed to walk a bit. We couldn't have seen her this morning anyway, as her OH told us that she had a bad night, pain, and was having the lumbar puncture.

We went out to dinner last night with our friends to a lovely pub which we enjoyed.

@Tui34 I have double nationality too, English and French, but I still have to renew my French ID card and passport every 10 years. Thank you for your prayer.

@redstar, Sacha is a gorgeous colour and so shiny.

                Evening everyone.

Glad you are safely home @Busy-Lizzie. I hope things will calm down for Alexa and that she has progress this weekend.

I bet homemade HXBs (like that abbreviation @Penny_Forthem) are superb @Obelix-Vendée.

Yes the Pink Moon is named after pink phlox flowers (must be different to our summer phlox) @Ergates. I only saw a milky glimpse through the clouds here @Ladybird4.

I hope your friend benefits from the health farm @Tui34 - shame you couldn’t go as a ‘plus one’!

Good to hear of your travels @redstar.

Mowing the grass really does tidy the garden up @Blue arbour - we have to mow around a few clumps of Daffodils this time of year but I never mind keeping some parts long.

It’s always exciting to know you have a bird nest isn’t it @Allotment Boy but the Magpies can be bullies so I hope they stay away.

I hope you can make time for a chill tomorrow @Liriodendron, before your visitors descend.

I hope everyone else is doing ok.
I seem to have a sore throat tonight - could be from so much talking in work or, quite likely, picked up some germs after not mingling with people for so long. We had a Well Being event in work today - we had some Easter treats and a massage chair! Controversial HXB flavour but I tried a cheese one! Was very much like a cheese scone and would have those again.

@AuntyRach I have seen cheesy ones in Tesco. I could be tempted by one of those.

Oh rats and double rats! I had typed a long post then got an error message and it disappeared. To summarise 1. Happy with hair. 2. Unhappy with state of the roads. 3. Please your back has eased @Ergates. 4. Not happy with building site who are going to install 2 and 4 way temporary lights for 8 weeks starting on 8th April and they stretch across both ends of our little Cres. They have said that they will leave driveways open. I am prepared for absolute chaos when the small people go back to school.
@Tui34 the ring tone on my phone is Australian magpies as I fell in love with that sound whilst I was visiting my relatives in Perth. I hope your friend does get some respite from his stay in the fresh mountain air. Glad you didn't have as unpleasant a ride home today as your last one @Busy-Lizzie and it does seem a little more positive about Alexa now. @AuntyRach, I hope that you manage to shake off the sore throat. They were occupational hazards for we teachers going back to school after the summer break.

Everyone seems to have been busy today. Thankfully the weather was much better so I've spent most of it just pottering round the garden. OH's been out all day.

You must be shattered with all the driving @Busy-Lizzy as well as worries about Alexa, Do hope you have some better news soon.

Hope you're not going down with a bug @AuntyRach.

A very good morning to you all. Good Friday today and I just feel that Easter has sneaked up on us very quickly indeed. It still looks a bit dismal outside and the forecast is not brilliant for this weekend. If I can get into the garden for just short burst of activity then that will do for me.

And for me too @Ladybird4 - Good morning. We have had rain overnight and it looks very grey but I'm looking forward to seeing my son later tonight who's up for a few days - mainly for the rugby it has to be said rather than see his mother. My sympathies over the forthcoming road works. Cricket isn't going to like those I'm sure. We have had months of disruption on the main road through the village and it's not over yet.

Think I've got a burst blood vessel in my left eye which is jolly annoying, hope it settles down soon. I've just checked the NHS site and apparently it's nothing serious, just looks odd.

Must go and get dressed ready for the walk to collect HXB's and the paper.

Have a good day folks whatever you've got planned.

@lizzie27, OH woke up with a bloodshot red eye a few weeks ago. It faded away after a few days, without any attention. Not that he would go and get it seen to anyway!
Grey and dull here, but a bit warmer. I’ve bought hot cross buns for today, but didn’t fancy one for breakfast. OH has had one of his favourites, (the cheapest Waitrose own brand ones, he eats them all year round!) I have some M and S apple and cinnamon ones in the freezer, I’ll fish one out for later.
Hope Alexa continues to improve, good that she was able to get out of bed for a brief time.
Enjoy the quiet from the building site over the long weekend, @Ladybird4.
Don’t have any real plans for the day. No visitors this weekend, so can please ourselves. I shall do some laundry, but I have a craft task I’d love to make time for. I’ll need to prioritise it though.
                                Keep safe, everyone.
