It's not something I've grown before, but earlier this year, in order to give some height to an otherwise 'flatish' border, I bought a cheapie Jasminum polyanthum (from Homebase) and have it growing up an obelisk. It had a few perfunctory flowers and then all but died off however, over the past 4 or 5 weeks it's put on a 'growing spurt' and is now looking quite healthy again.

Perhaps too late, I've now realised the attached instructions say 'protect from frost', so I ask .... should I prepare to shroud the whole thing in fleece, or will it die back so that only the base will need protection?

Many Jasmine are hardy, unfortunately this one isn't. I'd personaly pot it and bring it inside as a house plant. It may survive a mild winter outside in the right place but I'd choose a hardy variety instead. Sorry -(

Doh!! Thanks anyway. I fear it is thus doomed, for 'tis far too 'entwined' within it's obelsik to dig up. I may just give it a fleecy blanket and, if necessary, a memorial service!

Cover it in fleece, it has two chances. As Rob says though, take a few cuttings to be on the safe s.:gnthb:
