Wonderful pics, FANCY, it looks like you all had a great time.

The hotel looks very nice, bet the food was too - yummy curries and exotic fruits!

What a nice wide beach. Where were you at, please? We were in Kalutara about 12 years ago, super holiday but our beach was rather narrow, yours looks a dream.

Thanks for sharing and looking forward to seeing some more.

It was certainly a dream holiday. The beach as you can see from the pics flat with only a slight gradient not as steep as what you mentioned previously. Time seems to go so slow in the tropics , we landed at 7am. It took us 20 mins from the airport to the hotel, went to sleep to really have a rest but when I woke up I thought I had been sleeping for hours, I was only asleep for 2hrs. hotel was still serving breakfast. Dinners cost us each £5. Food was excellant and so was the fresh fruit we we given daily. People were very friendly and helpful. Where ever we went we felt safe.
We travelled in taxis and tuk tuks , kept away from public transport. The Island is stunning.

This was my second visit in 44 years. I cried. Met up with old school friends and cousins who are still living there.
I fell ill with asthma and had to see a doctor for antibiotics. Cost for consultation and medication £1.25
    Could not believe it myself.

It is on the West coast of the Island Negombo. I have been told 95% are Catholics who live along that coast. Theres a church in every nook and cranny built by the Portugueese.

The best time of the year to go to the tropics is winter time. beaches are not crowded and the sea is calm. Once the moonsoons starts not good to go sea bathing currants are very strong.

I am glad you all liked my pics and family. It is a good holiday destination.
