:gnthb: I love models of all sorts but this has to take the biscuit for a truthful scale radio controlled model to impress..!! I hope you will be amazed by the performance as I was... :gnthb: Oh & you need your sound on too for the effect...

Fantastic! I saw the real SR71 fly from greenham common many years ago (as a small child!) before the mad ladies took over!
I'm up at Duxford on Sunday....may pay the old bird a visit :)

Thats some model, I'm glad he landed it safely.

I too saw the real thing on one occasion at Mildenhall.

Although it goes back to the 50s there dont seem to be much that can impress, when it comes to raw power, in the same way these days.

yes Pete, the Lightning also makes the earth move!, seen plenty of those zipping round the Cumbrian hills whilst visiting my sister in law.
My favorite since I was a kid, and when I see it 'perform' still brings a tear (I think of pride) to my eyes and a swell in my chest is the Harrier. I love it!, like a pet hamster!

I think its mostly American now.
As usual the British government didn't support the idea in the way it should have done and most development has gone on in the US.
