    Hello all!

I started this thread so as not to offend anyone on the other tread, Favourite Spring flowers!

I think there is only two flowers that I "detest" are.

    Muscari and
    Alchemilla Mollis

The blighters come up everywhere, where they came from in the first place I know not where!

But never fear, I can spot them from 100 yards off, as they emerge though the soil, then get them out and straight into the dust bin, never the compost bin.

    So far, I am winning.

    Cheers

I have to dissagree I love to dee Muscari in the garden or better still so nice to see in containers along with daffodils compliment each other.

Yes they can take over but still nice to see in the garden and can be used as a cut flower.

As for Ladies Mantle will need to agree on this one as it does get a bit invasive but easy to dig out.

But better after a shower of rain and the droplets jsut shows the elegance of the plant.

Why the dustbin and not the compost bin.

I love muscari and alchemilla. But the purple colour of aubretia sets my teeth on edge, and multicoloured polyanthus bedding plants give me a migraine (OK, I exaggerate, but you know what I mean....

Good job everyone will disagree here. I have two buddleja, one white and one purple. Love the white one and have been trying to get rid of the purple one for years. It just bounces back.

Not the flowers exactly but I do detest Rosa rugosa and pyracantha when pruning time comes around. I wear thick over trousers and wealding gloves and the ******s still get through!!

Flower wise I hate those sprayed heathers that you get at garden centres, as if a natural plant isn't good enough.

Buddleia always looks a sorry mess when I see it growing in people's gardens or alongside some railway embankment. Why do so many people grow it? Perhaps when it's looked after properly it's an attractive shrub?

Love Buddleja's! Especially in wild gardens/places. I have Buddleja x weyerana (yellow/orange flowers later on) and Buddleja "Black Knight" (very dark purple flowers) in the garden and standard railway Buddleja on my allotment. They are always covered in insects when in flower and the B. x weyerana attracts hummingbird hawkmoths. Love alchemilla - send it to me! [IMG] and muscari, though I do prefer M. latifolia which has flowerheads like this (apologies for **** photo quality)

Know what you mean about the sprayed heather Lost Antheus [IMG] - I mean why?
Not keen on the multi coloured polyanthus either Returnmack - too much!
Can't stand bedding Begonias - such an ugly plant!

Really have a thing against hydrangeas. They're planted in every other front garden around here, probably because they're big. My parents' next door neighbours have one that almost prevents people from reaching the front door.

    Hi All!
Slipped up, should have entered Oxalis and Mahonias, with their inch long thorns.

In my next life,I want to be "The Public Torturer" and use the mahonia thorns to punish anyone who dares to say they like Muscari or Mollis on here.

    You have been warned!
We have ways of converting you!
