Heard my first lawnmower of the season today, is it really that time already! Thought it would be to damp to mow.

Planning on cutting next doors lawn tommorow, if the sun comes out that is, just been out for a cigarette and there is a really fine drizzel falling, almost a fog.

Mrs next door has got the house on the market so she wants it looking perfect:DOH:

There's been so much rain here over the last few weeks the lawns are quite boggy. Another couple of weeks yet I think. Besides I took my motor mower in for service today.

Ahh, that'll stop you mowing then.

The West Bay gardens are on Alluvial deposits, so even though the water table was only 6inches below the soil last week, it quickly drains away, which is why we have to dig as much orgainic stuff into the veg patch as we can, to hold the moisture during the summer.

Hmmm.......my lawnmowers a Hayter, two years old and I wish I hadn't bought it - it's so temperamental. I wish I'd stuck with a Honda.

Hope I haven't put the mockers on it for you. :WINK1:

We have had a Honda mower for around 8 years. Its petrol, but dont know the model number off hand. We use it for business purposes, and nothing has had to be done, apart from its regular service.

Only thing we needed to replace was the blade, due to it becoming that narrow due to sharpening over the years, it was time for a fresh one. We keep the old to cut lawns with potential stones which could chip our blade, and use the new blade for better quality lawns

I would highly recommend a honda!

I had my old Honda 14 years Lukenotts. The only reason I gave up on it was the lack of being able to get hold of spare parts. :cry3:

Penny, you say you still have snow. How long does it last? I know it's probably different all over Canada, but my daughter is emigrating to Vancouver in May, she says they have about four months of it there. That said, she is not a gardener but is looking forward to the winter sports. :)

Hi Sheal:).......I'm in Ontario, and we've had snow come on Halloween here, and not leave until mid April :rolleyespink:...but in Vancouver, they normally get a more mild winter then we do here.:thumb:

She'll LOVE the winter sports here.....so much to do, as long as you can hack the temperatures :thumb:
