    Hi Guys,
Is This plant that is taking over my garden Ground Elder? and also how do I get rid of it without killing everything else in the garden. It is taking over the whole garden and driving me mad. Any ideas would be great.

      Hello and welcome DivaVic.
That does look like ground elder. A blimmin nuisance of a weed but you can get rid of it.
I wouldn't bother trying to dig it out - any little bit left in the ground (and there will be plenty) will regrow.
Spray it with a systemic weedkiller (like Roundup) and it will die down. New growth will come back and spray it again. You might have to do a third spraying.
Don't despair, you can get rid of the stuff.

Thanks to you both. I'd better get down that garden centre for some roundup and start killing the little monster off.

Definitely! Spray, spray and spray again until it's gone.

        Spray!

But don't let the spray drift. If necessary, make a spray guard out of wood/canes and plastic, put it around the area to spray (like a kids playpen), spray and then move on to the next section.

        Good luck :thumb:

        Mrs Chopper here,
I got rid of my ground elder, I was a bit drastic but I laid the whole border to lawn and mowed it weekly, five years later no ground elder. Re dug the border and as yet no sign of it coming back. Its a bit long winded I grant you but it did work !

When we had our ground elder bed we used to make a quite acceptable soup from it.
