Thanks in advance. My dad and I have recently got to grips with a hugely over grown shrubbery (not touched in 10 years) Neither of us have a clue about gardening) We have identified a few bits like Butterfly Bushes and forsythia etc. The butterfly bushes we pruned back really hard and they are thriving but there are a few I am struggling to id.

This one is about 15ft tall now with no visible flowers sorry for bad pics.

This one again is hugely overgrown with all the foliage and flowers a long way above head height.. The next pic is I think the same type of shrub but a seperate bush.

These are prob really basic but I really dont want to kill off anything. Any help or advice would be great. Thank you

    Hi Rushyj,

It's really hard to guess what the first picture might be (as all we have to go on is old bare stems). A first "gut feel" from the stems, what I can make out of the leaves, and the other plants you have found, is it might be a philadelphus (Mock Orange). If it is, then you might get some well-scented white flowers in a month or so.

Would it be possible for you to take a picture of some of the growing stems of the 1st plant for us?
