I doubt if it breaks any records, but I was amazed to see a clump of Daffodils in flower when I walked up our track this morning. Anyone else's out yet?

      Hiya Chris.

Maybe they know something we don't ?:) Seriously though, I do wonder what the implications are for next year? Will they flower again? I doubt it.

There's something about Daffs that I find very uplifting. I used to go for the more exotic kind, but I now much prefer the more simple forms.

Weird weather eh? BTW Redstar, nice vid :)

      Cheers...Freddy.

Yep that is the one Sheal, Anemone. They are happy fellows, and split well after a few years when you think they are large. They also seem to pop some and make babies, well unless I've forgotten where I plant all of them. LOL. They are not to tall about 4 inces, I use them more in front of areas, or to soften corners.

Thanks Redstar, I want them for the same reason as you. Will they be okay in a sandy soil please?

That garden you see them in is about 20 years old. It has been worked all that time with good mulch etc, so much of the original clay soil is gone, it is not nice black soil. There are other areas they grow in, not worked as much, a mixture of top soil and clay. So as far as sandy soil, not sure, I don't have sandy soil here.

Hi Redstar, just as a matter of interest how long do your Daffodils last:scratch:? I don't mean the flowering period but the actual bulbs. I can grow most plants and bulbs easily on my neutral sandy soil, except for acid loving plants, but daffodils will last 2 to 3 seasons at best in my borders. I do have some Tete a Tete which are in a rockery and they have last nearly 15 years.:D I have Tulips that I have planted deeply in clumps and they are getting towards 20 years old, but Daffodils ............I'm very lucky to get 3 years out of them.
