We have a small 'out building' on the back of our house and it has a flat roof with a 2" recess which was originally filled with small gravel. It has weathered for many years and is now covered in some sort of sedum ??, small alpine type flower with yellow flowers. Anyway there's also moss and soil amongst the remaining gravel, so I thought I'd buy a couple of boxes of wildflower seeds from our local bargain shop and I've spread them on the roof. Whether anything will happen only time will tell, but it'll look pretty good if they grow :blue thumb:

Update...I had a look on our flat roof today; after all the recent rain I figured it may have spurred something into life and sure enough there are dozens of little seedlings all over the roof amongst the sedums...:dancy:, so things are going to plan so far..:dbgrtmb:

            Nice one Bilub,

I was reading a GW mag today that had an article about growing on a shed roof. Will sort you out the details when I get home.

              That definitely works. :dbgrtmb:

              No witches around here :snork:

Another thing that works is sticking a banana in your ear to keep the elephants away. We've not had trouble with elephants since I started doing that!
