For the last of couple weeks I've noticed quite high numbers of daddy long legs around the garden (and the house much to the dismay of my wife :heehee:), but this morning the numbers were bordering plague proportions :runforhills: , there were hundreds and hundreds of them in the garden, as it came light the back windows were covered in them and I could see them all over the patio :hate-shocked:

I risked life an limb :paladin::biggrin: and went outside to find the fence covered too, being sad (as my wife said :snork:) I counted how many were on a single 6ft fence and gave up at 100 :yikes:

Needless to say the birds and spiders were having a feast :hapfeet:

Has anyone else noticed there's lots about or are they on vacation in South Derbyshire :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

My wife also dreads them, going into the shed to try and find some fine netting to fix over the khazi window. :ideaIPB: Cheers, Tony.

Less than usual down here, but lots of the grass lands were flooded this year, must have drowned a lot of leather Jackets.

Still got plague levels of Mosquitoes though:runforhills:

I've seen a few but not loads. Any that dare come in the house get eaten by a cat.

A vacuum cleaner will sort out those indoors.

Well another wave of the daddy long leg invasion approached from the neighbouring field just before dark :heehee:, but it was swiftly intercepted by the local seagulls, dozens and dozens of them taking advantage of the natural larder, even saw a couple of bats flitting about..:dbgrtmb:

If you have an old CRT telly, you can try the following:

              1. Catch one daddy long legs.
              2. Hold it gently by one wing just in front of the tv screen.
              3. Switch the on the tv. The resulting static burst will make the daddy long legs do an impression of Einstein hair on a ven de graff generator (all the legs immediately straighten and are spaced at even intervals).
              4. Switch the tv back off, and after the static discharges, note the legs start wiggling again.
