About 4-5 weeks ago i potted up several different types of bulb. Today i noticed that one of the bulbs has produced shoots already!! I think its either the crocus or the iris bulbs - is this normal?
I wasn't expecting anything until next spring! Will they still come up in the spring as well?

    Thanks

    Hi,
I have exactly the same problem. I started a thread somewhere below... I'm mostly concerned I'll loose my carefully planned Christmas decorations. Well, what can you do? It seems we are having a unseasonal heatwave, in Newcastle I've learnt this means double figures. (Celsius.)
I'm planning to buy some more Hyacint bulbs and plant another round a bit later. Too much hassle to try to keep these in fridge etc.
Gardening is, as they say, gardening. :cnfs:

This happens every year, some rather adventurous little souls have a go now, but the rest will come up fine. I don't worry about it. As Alice says it is normal.

There was snow in places this time last year. I was in the garden on a few days earlier in the week in "shirt sleeves."
