A very good afternoon to you all.

I picked up a new bench this morning as the other was a little bit rotten.

Now, I don't know whether to paint it, either cream or black, or leave as it is for now until it starts to silver?

Your opinions greatly received. Mrs al likes it the way it is, but I'm in a quandary. :coffee:

    Cheers, :ccheers: Al.

I think it looks nice as it is or also dark - same shade as the fence.

So 1 for as is, and 1 for dark or as is. I'm in 3 minds!

And a good evening to you Al.

I am in two minds ... one 'as is' and let it 'age' naturally which we have always done ... but ... also it would be nice to match the fencing. Lovely bench by the way, we need to get a new one (or two) and the end of season sales will soon be on so will be on the lookout.

In keeping with your safari theme, why not paint it camouflage, or black and white or black and yellow wavey stripes.

Personally I'd just treat it with a clear wood 'stain' and let it do it's own thing :)

Our weather is too wet to just leave it. I think you should paint it, it will last longer. Nice seat!!

Yep, i'd oil it too, linseed or danish oil.

Then i'd build a matching one out of old pallets :)

Leave it, just natural oil to preserve it. Thats all.

I like the black and cream, but I also like the oil it approach. What's the best one to use to keep the colour as it is now if I do decide to oil it?
