    I have to purchase a New Hoe after my old original one gave up the ghost yesterday,After 20 years :flag: ( Will be using it on a vegetable bed for weeding)and would appreciate any Suggestions as to the best type,The soil with the help of double digging is loose.Thank you :thumb::)

    ditto. My swoe was bought second hand over 20 years ago and I expect it to see me out

    but Pro /gard, where is he these days, likes a reciprocating hoe, which I've never used. Might be worth a looking at.

    Swoe is really god for hoeing around and between plants, the 'free' end even getting behind plants

    For larger areas without plants a push-pull hoe covers the ground much faster

    Mind you, I have bought them as wedding presents for folk because I'm so happy with mine. And now you come to mention it I've had mine for at least 20 years.

    I've pulled up this tread several times now, as each reply has been added, and every time I have thought that the correct answer to "What Hoe" should be Fink Nottle, Jeeves or Wooster :hehe:
