Out of Season flowering

    Hi All

    My Clematis Montana is flowering and has quite a lot of buds which it hasn't done before in September , also I thought I would mention my Wisteria the parts I couldn't reach without a ladder to summer prune a had quite a lot of flowers growing on the new growth at the ends.

    Anyone else noticed anything unusual for this time of year.

    Yes, my poppy Royal Wedding has a bud on it , not sure if it will open though.

      nothing at the moment but the most bizarre we've ever had was a rose flowering on the 18th of December! :dunno:

        Funny that...I was just going to ask about this when I spotted your post.I have two huge 'bushes' of Montana and just this one lonely flower.I'm going to take a cutting off this branch just out of curiosity...I'll let you know if I get late flowers in two years :)

          I think Shiney mentioned the same thing happening to his Kerria Japonica as mine......i.e. it's flowering again after flowering at it's correct time in Spring.:dunno::snork:

          SNAP! my Kerria is in full bloom at the moment, and noticed my 2 wisterias have flowers hanging from them.

            Clematis 'Macropetala'......spring flowering supposedly, this is one of two flowers but not totally true to it's spring colouring.
