I promised myself I'd be potting today, so that's what I did! My tomato seeds are now underway.....
      Golden Pearl
      Gardeners Delight
      Shirley
      Manx Marvel

      I've also potted on.....
      Wangenheimia
Cosmos...... Note to self: mustn't start them so early next year, they grow quickly.
      Aster 'Bridesmaids'
      Knautia 'Red Knight'
      Antirrhinum

I've also risked putting some seedlings out into the greenhouse as the nights here have been fairly warm, around 9C. The frost will probably appear now!

Yesterday after a nice long walk in the country, sowed more flowers seeds, fed the lawn, got one of the benches out the summer house, had a beer in the sun :) Then had to creocote the side gate - looks great again but boy does it pong!

Am waiting for my new bed to be delivered, so instead of being outside I am planning my front borders. Next door neighbour has dug up some of my Rhodos for his son, so I'm planning what to put their to replace them. Trouble is there is a huge Sycamore in his front garden which leeches away any nutrients. I've got a Camellia out there and some other bits and pieces which are doing okay so it's just a matter of finding what suits from my container collection. I've got a couple of Azaleas which I might try. There are also a couple of narrow borders which are now bare, but I think I am going to fill those with annuals/hardy perennials.

I'm v jealous of people having sunshine. It's been dry here for a few days but grey and overcast.

Yesterday I did lots of weeding, and fed the shrubs with manure and fresh compost .
potted up all 72 perrenial plugs I got from T&M.
moved clematis in pots as they keep on dying because of leaf wilt, I need to keep my eye on that..
No sowings this week, by its in my to-do-list, right next to "must enjoy the sun while its here!"

I have given up for the day. I have been working flat out on a new path for the last 4 days and am completely cream crackered and hurt EVERYWHERE. I have made the fatal mistake of rushing because I know it is meant to rain tomorrow. Not only have I barrowed tonnes of old crazy paving about 300 yards (crazy paving path removed to make way for my 1st ever brand new greenhouse last year :) I have had to move countless tonnes of soil to make way for the path. Not that keen on crazy paving but have "miles" of it here and way too big a job to change it all so thought best for a new path to match existing
I love having a huge garden BUT when it comes to any kind of projects they too seem to be of gargantuan proportions! I'm getting too old for this!!!

The greenhouse is complete and in place :hapydancsmil:(he did give in and get a mate round to help in the end). The catch on one of the roof vents is broken but they're sending a new one out right away.

I finished digging the veg patch - even managed to get the old tree stumps out - so I'm just about ready for planting some spuds :dbgrtmb:. Will wait till after the weekend as I'm going to see my dad then and he wants to go up the garden centre with me to help me choose. He's not able to do very much himself any more so enjoys 'second hand' gardening through me.
