This is the earliest that I have started my seeds, but I figured that with the wonky weather we had here last summer, that if the plants are that much bigger, they might fare better.

Hiya @Penny in Ontario :blue thumb:

I have to ask, how do you plan to look after them between now and planting time? Do you keep your greenhouse heated?

Hiya Freddy.....no greenhouse here, I have a space at the shop that's out of the way, with lights that Brad installed for me, ample heat and over head fans...so I keep them there until its warm enough to start hardening them off.

When would you normally expect to plant out?

The two stars of last year will be in my plan this year - Maskotka and Marmande; not bothering with the Ailsa Craig that I did last year, and not overly convinced about the millefleur either (might give a couple a shot, and start them earlier); in addition to that, I will be trying Manx Marvel, and hopefully some Delicious and some Black Krim - that is, of course, before I let myself loose in the garden centre which makes this list subject to additions!

But... But.... I got those itchy seed fingers! :snork:

Seriously though, the millefleur were very slow growers despite the warmth last year, so if I do decide to do them, I will have to start them earlier this year

I had Omar Lebanese, Moneymaker, Valencia and Gartenpearle last year. I'm gonna have them all again! More everyday Moneymakers though, less Omars, as quite a few were wasted. And I'm gonna try some more varieties this year too :dancy:
