      I'm sure that is what the Hearst family thought too.

      And he is probably white and never been called a P@ki? I'm sure that they knew the difference too but there are people out there who are highly skilled at turning around what is right and wrong to suit there own purposes.

      Just to reiterate, I believe that if they have joined up with ISIS they need to be punished. At the same time there must be some consideration of the folly of the young.

            Hi Pete my friend,no worries were cut from the same cloth;)

            Because its gone on to long and the media coverage and certain people in powerful positions have given the government no choice and forced them to act now,that's my interpretation on this situation:smile:

              Going into a war zone carries the obvious potential risk of being killed.
              Being shot would be ok then? :noidea:
              Being shot from a distance, mortally wounded, laying alone, dying a slow, agonising death is ok? :scratch:
              Being blown up and laying dying with your limbs on another grid reference any good? :scratch:
              Intelligence? SO15 agents? Facebook? :dunno:
              Probability would be a factor; lack of sightings elsewhere could be another.

              :scratch:
              Millions of tax payers money is spent on locating missing children/vulnerable persons/adults.
              The obvious reasons would be (but not in any particular order):-
              a) they are minors and they are missing;
              b) there is a legal obligation to locate them;
              c) there is a concern for their welfare.
              So, the question isn't why are the Government trying to trace them and bring them home, the question is: why not spend tax payers money looking for these three girls? :dunno: Or, are you suggesting we discriminate in their case? :scratch:

              Had they been able to reach the girls before they reached Syria there are clear advantages. Primarily they would be safe and could be returned to their families.
              Advantages (from SO15's perspective and therefore for our national security - which includes all of us ;) ) would be to gather intelligence by establishing just how they were persuaded/who their contacts were/how the arrangements were made etc.

                From what I have been reading over the last few months all the girls that have gone to join up with this group have all said that they would be happy to come back over here and take the lives of British People if the Dail Wail is to believed and is reporting.

                Hundreds of young people and adults go missing each year in this country,it is a sad fact of life if they have fallen out with their parents or been turfed out when they got to a certain age but does our goverment spend thousands on trying to trace them and take them back to their parents,no I thought not.

                Facebook and Twitter could easily close the accounts of these brainwashing groups but by the sounds of things it hasn't been done yet.

                As the saying goes,if you tell someone something often enough then they in the end believe what they hear and it will be with great difficulty to persuade them to drop everything and come home and once they have been married off and impregnated then I can't see these girls ever coming back home and that is a sad fact of life but it is the road of life they have chosen to tread.

                On a lighter note I think it is the final episode of Wolf Hall tonight and hope that Thomas Cromwell doesn't lose his head (scuse pun ) tonight:yikes:

                      Are you speaking about missing persons per se or specifically those who have links to terrorist organisation?

                      There is a precedent for forgiveness - Martin McGuinness. The main difference I suppose is that one terrorist organisation would like to carry out atrocities on the UK mainland whilst the other terrorist organisation did commit atrocities here.

                        I think we still have a big problem with discrimination in this country. When I was young, I was discriminated against. The reason? I had long hair. Of course, it goes without saying that I find it hard to fathom why anyone would think it's a good idea to go off to Syria, but I'm sure there's a section of society that feels alienated.

                            Just an update:- how true, I don't know.

                            I watched an interview at 3.30 a.m. between a TV reporter and a smuggler - at the Turkey/Syria border. The smuggler says the girls were smuggled across the border by another smuggler he knows. Apparently it was well organised and they were met on the other side by people with a vehicle.
