Have you got mice in that shed? (as they'll gnaw into that box and through the cover)

I haven't seen any trace of any in there, but I'm not planning on it being stored for too long :D

Well, I went over again today for around an hour (ish), and have made another dent in what needs doing.

And a view from the shed looking back :-

It seems once I get started, it is hard to stop :)

Also took a small video again..... The time it takes to get from one end to the other is getting quicker

Looks like you might be chucking away some useful pea stick material

        GC pea sticks.jpg

Or is that just some branching weed stems, rather than saplings?

^ yep, weed stems, no good use for them for me. I have uncovered some soft fruit canes and am still undecided what I'll do with them, as there aren't many, ideally I am going veg mad and may give the canes to someone else on the site.

Thanks for the offer, I have quite a few different varieties of Tomato seed already, as for canes, I have loads of 7' + lengths of galvanised steel rods (come as a transport brace on garage doors), which are also coming in handy as 'fence posts' (you may be able to spot 2 I have put in on the left hand side to straighten the fence up)

I was considering companion planting, but the only thing that puts me off, is that it makes it more of a task to hoe around.

I am planning quite a few Courgette plants (love courgettes), some runners (have they created a strain that doesn't go stringy ?), my boy wants to grow some peas, obviously tomatoes. I may even see about getting some 'Shetland Black' spuds .... As we love them.

There are so many things I want to give 'a go', and now having the space, I will do :)

I'm not overly sure about companion planting myself to be honest - the only benefit that I maybe got last year was giving the slugs and snails something to munch to keep them occupied and off the edibles.

Yes, that is on the list as well :blue thumb:

No point having chickens in the back garden as well as the allotment ;)

Need to find out a variety of runner beans that don't go stringy ....
