I didn't buy any seed potatoes this year (ongoing saga with my (maybe)allotment) but as some of you may recall, I brought home some spuds from our friends smallholding in North Wales last september. We ate most of them but I saved a few as "seed" potatoes because they tasted so good, I thought they may have been "maincrop" varieties, planted the remnants mid march and what a result! Definitely NOT a maincrop, they've already died over, probable 2nd Earlies? The "whites" look and taste like Maris Piper, make super chips too, the red white ones look like Cara but obviously aren't.

I'm getting 3kg per plant, no slug damage. no scab and they stil taste great!

What the heck can they be?

Yes, I will be saving some for next year :D

Wasn't it Kristen who advised me NOT to use the leftovers as seed potatoes?

    Where is he anyway?

I took a gamble and it paid off! NOT a ploy I would recommend. I'll photo the next lot to aid identification, they really are the best tasting spuds I've ever come across though, so I'll probably gamble again next year! :D

It was Vince, he was worried about the blight, can't blame him after last years crop wipe out. I'm spraying this year.

I've been relyably informed that Kristen will be back:dbgrtmb:

Hope so, as the Salsify root he sent me to make coffee is now flowering:DOH:
