    Hi all,

My gardener accidentally used ericaceous compost to plant the following 5 shrubs

    Weigela 'Little Red Robin'
    Abelia x grandiflora 'Sunshine Daydream'
    Choisya Ternata 'Sundance'
    Aucuba Japonica 'Crotonifolia'
    Viburnum Sargentii 'Onondaga'

Will the compost harm these plants? Should I dig them up and replant them?

    Mat

You can check for yourself on this site what the PH needs of each plant is.

Looking though your list they will all grow in more acidic than alkaline conditions, so no worries.

If your soil is more alkaline then he did you / the plants a favour.:)

      They will be ok

Apparently plants that like alkaline soil are ok in one that is more acid.
But plants that like an acid soil will not be ok in one that is more alkaline.
I have read the explanation for this but can't remember why off hand.
