We are just watching this weeks addition of Country File that we taped this morning while we were out and they have announced the title of this years photo competition with £1,000 worth of Photographic Vouchers and the winning photo will appear along with the runners up in the 2008 Countryfile Calender.Proceeds of which will go to Children In Need.

The Title will be All Creatures Great and Small and the closing date will be September 7th,so lets all get snapping and see what we can produce and perhaps a lucky member of GC might be a winner...Good Luck

Luckily someone read the small print and the BBC seem to have ammended their copyright grab conditions. see here

Quite a few of these competitions try to take over the photographers rights; it's the thin end of the wedge.

    Cheers MIKE

glad you brought that up mike. I entered a local wildlife trust competition last year, the first time i'd ever submitted a photo to a competition outside GC. The rules there stated that all enteries could be used in their magazine etc, without attributing to the photographer.
anyway, i didn't win, that 'honour' went to someone who appears to have won the staff competition last year [IMG] [IMG] but my photo appeared in the same magazine as the one they announced the winners in. you guessed it, not a mention of me!! [IMG]
    very annoying hey??
