What sort are they Snorky ?

If they are the smaller ones I would think they've probably dried out or gone mouldy. The larger types may be alright.
It's also worth checking when their flowering time is, as Alliums can flower from March through to August. If they're later ones I'd say give it a go but if they're earlies I probably wouldn't bother.
Mine are already up and in leaf.

PS..... What you could do if that are in an ok condition is pot them up into compost and put them back in the shed for a month or so until the weathers better. That way they will probably catch up with where they should be.

I'd definitely give them a go asap as they look in good condition, and also, are a later flowering type.

They also look stunning in larger containers where the heads are higher up so you can see each little star shaped flower.

If you've got any large containers it may be worth putting them in and then when the Spring bedding comes into the shops ( ready grown in bud, not plugs ) buying some Wallflowers, Forget me nots or Pansies to go around them.
Or, if you wanted to leave them in there permanently, plant them at their maximum depth and then put a mix of perennials over them. We have London Pride (Saxifrage) and Michaelmas Daisies ( Aster Novii Belgii ) planted in the same tubs as ours .

They're fine to plant now but, as Anthony says, put them in pots (in greenhouse if you have one) to bring them on quicker. They're perfect for planting in the Spring so no trouble doing it now.

Great. Done a big pot in the greenhouse with 12 in and planted the other 6 in a front bed just to see if anything happens.

                Thanks v much! :)

The purple sensation alliums are May-June flowering . So as Shiney said , plant them up in the GH to give them a bit off a start . I planted my Alliums outside in early December , nothings showing yet. Lots of very good info if you Google . One point on Alliums , I have not grown them for a while , is the leaves die back before they flower . So in a bed you need some lowish companion planting to hide this . Not sure what the best choices are
PS Just read Anthonys post again above - some ideas there:blue thumb:
