      Awesome vid Dim, I was lucky enough to hold one of these at a local falconry centre called The Owl Experience; The Owl Experience Bird of Prey Centre

      The one I held was a male which was impressive enough but the female which wasn't tame enough was twice the size :shocked: and to think there are isolated populations of these living wild in Britain - brilliant :thumb:

        When I was about 12 or 13 my friend at the time's dad had a pair (M+F) in the back garden very pretty birds and huge!:sunny:

        strangely, folklore in south africa has it that owls are bad luck

        it is believed, that if an owl perches on your house roof, someone in that home, or a close relative of someone who lives in that home will soon pass

        and then, in some countries like the UK, they are regarded as a good luck omen
