Shiney - best of luck with your open day. And thanks for the info that Nect. siculum flowers in two years. I have grown a number of Allium from seed - its very easy to do. But they are now in their second and third years and look nowhere near being big enough to flower. I did sow some Nect. siculum seeds at one point, but didn't persevere as I imagined that it was another that would take ages to flower. When you have a lot of pots with tiny seedlings hanging around for three years, they tend to get kicked over, or lose their labels or get otherwise abused. :D Marley - its even a bit more complicated. Strictly speaking I think there are two plants - Nectaroscordum siculum var. siculum and Nectaroscordum siculum var. bulgaricum. One is from the eastern mediterranean and one from the western side. There is supposed to be a very slight colour difference between them. But the net result is that the names siculum and bulgaricum are also used interchangeably. :dh:
