Anyone know what this tree is?

I've only noticed one suckering by the smaller tree. The other is in the lawn, so I guess I just cut over them with the mower. The other side of the tree is a large hedge then field, so hopefully suckering not too much of a problem. Am potting one up for a friend, so let me know if you want me to keep an eye out for another for you longk!

 

And if anyone really does want one or two from France (go on, Marley, bet you could find a gap?) just say the word! Our local gardening club have their next meeting in the third week of September, so they'll disappear then.
