@Busy-Lizzie, I really appreciate the additional tips! The Malvern Hills seem lovely. I’ll definitely check out the article you shared. I also like the idea of planting in a zigzag pattern.

@noisette47, thanks once more for keeping an eye out for roses and sharing your advice. The photos you sent are also a big help!

@Butterfly6, thank you for the search tips and for assisting me in finding the right roses. I truly appreciate it!

Lots to consider, love this project and the help I am getting. Thank you.

Thank you @noisette47 . I enlarged it and it definitely isn't Chevy Chase. It does look rather like a friend's Etoile de Hollande. She's also lives in France.

Not planting in a zig zag - training in a zig zag, tying in stems sideways.

I brought cuttings from the original plant in UK. One of the few things OH planted there but the label was lost way back in the mists of time :-) I very much doubt that it's a rare variety. Don't you just love the old French names? I bought Ghislaine de Feligonde twice before realising that I didn't actually rate the rose itself much, it was the name I couldn't resist lol..

Hard to see in this photo, but I have been very pleased with how Lilac Bouquet has done on my arch. Repeats well, but does not have much of a scent.
