Popped into our large Tesco ( only because I had a free voucher for a large Christmas
pudding as a taste tester) and it was very quiet. Even the staff said it had been very quiet.
Just wait for those poor saps next weekend...... they will be falling over themselves
to get their bottles of plonk. :ccheers:

No, we do not really do much Christmas, all parents gone, just my son and grandson
to buy for, I do not want anything, but did ask for a new contoured pillow. OH got his
magazine subscription ( a present that keeps giving).

No little Fred this year :cry3:, but we may have a new little dog next weekend, we are
just waiting for all the final paperwork. :fingers crossed:

So will sit and veg out in front of the tv, glass in hand, giving thanks for all we
have, and hoping that maybe next year it will be a bit better for everyone. :fingers crossed:

          Cuppa noeldes? Interesting concept..

Got to get off my bum and get back at baking the cookies.

Maybe I'll listen to Corrie while I'm baking. I've already seen some of the episodes but it's always a fun listen and I won't be worried about missing any spicy bits..

baking my Christmas gifts today: Apple Cranberry Walnut bread, 6 of them. Huge bowl to stir all in, 6 loaf tins to fill. Wish it was colder as I keep them in storage in the unheated garage as I give them away. Wrapping 12 books today (for gifts) today, mailing tomorrow. Its the book we are in. (kinda a take on the Christmas letter everyone else does, but us). hopefully get to some leaf raking/burning. Bought second gift for husband yesterday, a gift certificate at a better barber shop. One more to go for him.

Just a quiet Christmas with the three of us, my Mum is now in a Care Home so we will see her two days before the 25th, (we visited her yesterday as well) Our son will meet us there and come back with us for a few days, nothing to panic about but I'll need more books to read as a hardly ever watch tv.

Got the cookies baked. Just need to decorate the gingerbreads and make the mince and cherry tarts.

thought it was 45 dozen cookies but now seeing my count, it's almost 60. No wonder my feet want a rest!

Tomorrow back to work. People are wanting their goods finished before Christmas and I don't want any of them panicking!

Cheers all. This afternoon is my leisure time and we're off to the pub for an hour. :)

No panicking here, despite losing Mr Kandys dad last month I have practically finished all the card writing/sending and prezzie wrapping, the turkey crown is in the freezer and most of the grub has been bought, just the pig pie and pigs in blankets plus the log to get and the salad stuff and then that side of it will be finished:biggrin:

We shall hopefully be exploring the Dark and White peaks as shown on tonight's Countryfile programme and it would be nice to have some snow as well,we can live in hope:snork:

My cold has now gone onto my chest so really need to go and see the quack to get some Antibiotics as I am fed up with coughing and wheezing all day and night:sick0026::cry3:

We don't really feel in the Christmas mood but feel that after all we have been through this year we should count our blessings as we haven't been flooded out like those poor souls further up the country:sad:

Have to remember to get some money donated for the relief fund to try and give something back to the people that have lost everything recently especially the farmers that have lost livestock:sad:

                      Have a good Christmas everyone:smile:

I really get upset seeing this kind of devastation.

                          It happens here too.

Mother Nature is a woman and like me can be a bitch sometimes.

I hope everyone gets sorted before the colder weather arrives, and before the holidays.

I'm feeling much more organised today :), our shopping trip was a great success! I still have to find something for my brothers girl friend (pregnant so not easy I normally buy her a bottle of her favourite plonk!) my niece still needs some presents, it's her birthday just before Christmas too! I did manage to find the most over the top White princess dress in TKmax for her!!! (I never go in TKmax because it's so untidy, it makes me feel really stressed ) I had so many comments from other shoppers & a lady in the car park stopped me & asked me where I'd got it from! It's certainly a head turning dress! :heehee:
We've realised that the table isn't big enough even with our DIY table top so looks like Kev will be looking for a bigger piece of wood this week!
I've not done any cards but I've decided to only send the ones which really need to be sent, sending to close friends just causes lots of work I going to give a donation to charity instead :blue thumb:
My food shopping bill was horrendous, but at least that got the shopping sorted in one go, I just need fresh veg, milk, cream & a few bits for the buffet in the evening (I'm not going to do much because so much goes to waste after a big Christmas lunch & you all know how much I hate waste :rolleyespink:)
I'm obviously a bit of a lightweight I feel really tired tonight after all that shopping.:snooze:

We have a couple of card tables and just add one or more to the dinner table. It's a lot easier and they fold up and are put away when not needed. :blue thumb: If there are kids that really don't want to sit with the adults the card tables are ideal because you can set them up away from the main table. :)

That's a brilliant idea @shiney :blue thumb: I shall look into that :blue thumb: I especially like the idea of putting the children on a separate table! :heehee:. I've already banned mobile phones & iPads at the table there were some faces pulled! I thought if I told everyone before they arrived it would save any embarrassment on the day! :blue thumb: I hope I'm not being unreasonable I don't think I am :)
