When will I learn not to tempt fate? No sooner had I posted that, when the oven packed up. :yikes:

Not great timing to say the least. It did send Mrs Trunky into a mild panic for a while, but she had soon ordered a replacement on that interweb thingy, it was delivered yesterday and youngest daughter's partner, who is a trained electrician and an extremely helpful young man, came and fitted it for us today. Calm has been restored. :phew:

Mrs T has been baking and cooking like a good 'un this afternoon to familiarise herself with the new cooker, and right now the house is filled with delicious aromas. :)

I only have a few days of work to do, then I've got lots of time to get the house in order. Got my cookie trays done. I hope my friends and family like them.

image.jpeg We are still on track and glad we got things done today before the rain started as it was quiet heavy at times:biggrin:

We popped into town to have our hair cut and noticed how dead it seemed unless it was us being in there early (10am) when we got back home this little monkey had made itself at home on top of our caravan:snork: (It's name is Claw,I know I know what a silly bloody name for a cat:biggrin:)

I went in late @Kandy and yes, it was dead.
Awwww a puddy tat :) Not as nice as my 'Blackpuss' though, and I agree about Claw being a silly name.
I think I messed up purchasing my Tom tom . The shop matched the Argos price of £180, but I said 'What if it's cheaper on Boxing day?'. They said they would refund any difference :blue thumb:.
          I thought fair enough :)
On reflection though, if they discount it by 10% in the sale, it still only brings it down to the current Argos price  that I have just paid, so I will only gain if its discounted by more than 10%. But......then you have to take into account any Argos sale price :gaah:. If the shop I bought it from discount it by 20% I will be happy, as I only want to pay £160 tops.
It's rare that I mess up on getting a good deal  :psnp:.

If I'd have had a chance at naming a cat I would have called it Rover. :blue thumb:

just finished Caramelizing 6 huge white onions for my Caramelized onion goat cheese tart for the office party this Tuesday. I make it every year, they ask for it. it is good. So come tuesday morning just have to put the pies together and bake, then take them to work.

Did not bake Christmas cookies this year, seem to have a few coming our way from my husbands customers, and chocolates . did make the apple cranberry walnut loafs for gifts.
All gifts bought and wrapped. Still considering Christmas day dinner, will just shop for something the day before. Reservations made at a nice restaurant for Christmas Eve. Enough decorations are up and out.

I won't eat them or drink rum. I had my very first retching hangover after imbibing that particular libation.

Never again .. sorry .? No barfing emoticon readily available but you know ....:)
