I've had a look at all my clematis and this is the only one I haven't got the label too, think it was lost during the move, is it possible to identify it and it's back in buds too :)

I have this one too, it's growth has been great but not flowered this year at all, any tips

To be honest, Apple Blossom, I hate trying to identify any plant over the Net as the colour is very suspect from the real thing due to camera settings, computer settings, and various settings of Monitors.

Clematis Hendersonii Rubra is in the Armandii Group so, as long as you haven't pruned it, it should flower. It does like sun and warmth but I would also give it a weekly feed of liquid Tomato Feed in late February onwards to encourage it to flower.:coffee::snork:

@Apple Blossom is the first Clematis picture dark red or purple as colours tend to differ as Armandii has said.

The first one that comes to mind is 'Mr. President'.

                      I was thinking of " Niobe ".

As regards to colour I agree, it reminds me of when I tried ( and gave up ) to photo my Rose " Hot Chocolate ". It just kept showing as red which it isn't. ( Remember that one Sheal ? )

Niobe is certainly a candidate, Anthony, I looked at it earlier but, again, it's the uncertainly of the colour rendition that stops me from being certain.:dunno::snork:

You could well be right there Anthony. :) We'll have to wait and see what Apple Blossom says about the colour.
