When I read the title 'when one door closes another one opens' I thought the thread was going to be about an Ikea wardrobe.

@hoofy it would be if I put it together. I can't hang doors to save my life.

I've come to the conclusion that I don't much care for this working lark. I'd much rather get up at lunch time and sit about in my pyjamas all day. Seriously though it's been ok. I have worked full time for the last couple of weeks covering for holidays and other abscences. It's been intense and I have been glad to get home each night. As a newcomer I make the odd mistake. That annoys me because it makes me very self conscious. When it starts to go wrong I get flustered which just compounds the problem. As each day passes I get more experience and my confidence grows. Once I get to grips with the intricacies of the job I should become less anxious and start enjoying it more. Next week I should just be working by contracted 4 hour afternoon shift. That will give me a chance to wind down a bit. My wife and I will be going on holiday the week after so at least I get the mornings free to make last minute arrangements.

Keep at it :blue thumb: I think companies try to 'test' newbies sometimes. You're doing great, and as you said the confidence will grow!
You've got a holiday to look forward too! Don't give up, it's just a different lifestyle, you'll get used to it:)

These days I stand on the street corner with my sad eyed dog, a flat cap and a Banjo.......and they pay me not so play the Banjo or sing.
