    Computers!!!
I spent all afternoon working my way through Country Garden Roses, highlighting and page saving their fab online catalogue.

All their roses are listed A-Z. Easy peezy. Not for me. So I clicked on A highlighted the picture and up comes the picture and some details. Clicked Save Page. Then Save. Got as far a the D's. Checked My Docs, Downloads. Yes! all listed. Opened file and tiny picture and no text.

Oh please God. Can I have a computer I can whack with a hammer, to make it do what 'I' want.

Schoolboy error Mike....first rule of auditing/databases etc...check the first one worked correctly before doing anymore.

Just curious, why are you downloading and saving it? Do you not like to read on screen?

This is going to sound counter-intuitive, but rather than save the page, I think you need to 'print' it - now this printing is not in the conventional sense, but printing it as a PDF which is then saved on your PC.

If your computer has a new enough version of Windows, it should have 'Microsoft Print to PDF' installed, or at worst case 'Microsoft XPS Document Writer' - - the latter being the least preferred. If not, there are free PDF printers that you can download and install (CutePDF used to be a popular one).

On the page you want to save, click File>>Print then select the PDF printer (if it is not already selected), click Print or OK, and then you should get a pop up window asking you where you want to save it and what you want to call it.

Without spending some time checking it all out, I suspect only the small images form part of their webpages and are saved when saving a webpage, but the larger, full size images are not and are stored elsewhere on their server in a way that saving webpages only saves the the tiny ones on your PC (and it's that location you need to indentify and access to get the larger images, but as the larger size doesn't appear on an image search it suggest it's a protected location).

OK, I think I have worked it out - taking A Faithful Friend as an example:
            A Faithful Friend (Floribunda Rose)

That won't print or save with the image of the rose all in one document because the large image is actually a series of images, and is part of the script that is embedded into the webpage.

The nearest I think I can get is this:

            MikeRose1.png
This is a screenshot, pasted into Paint.net, cropped to size and then saved as an image file.

Computers are good at automation so just search for software that can spider a website domain and recreate its structure, complete with content, on your own hard drive for you to peruse at your leisure.

There are server-side tricks that prevent a web browser from downloading content but there are "website downloaders" out there that can easily bypass them.

                Thank you all very much.

I am basically trying to stay awake. I have decided for the time being simply to compiling an A-Z list of rose names. Of course I will never complete it, as the rose has been popular for over two thousand years. If by chance any of you good folk care to list your roses fair do's.

                Thanks again.

                  Think I've cracked it ...

Image above hot linked to this url

                  Code:
                  https://www.countrygardenroses.co.uk/wms/modules/shop/image.php?p=676&i=1
                  Original url

                  Code:
                  https://www.countrygardenroses.co.uk/wms/modules/shop/image.php?p=676&i=1&w=70&h=70&crop=1
It's the url for the 'small image' beneath the larger, changing images, but with some of the stuff they put at the end they added to reduce the display size removed. Not the elegant solution I hoped for, but it works.
