Bamboo

I recently bought some Fargesia similaris seeds from ebay, but the seller forgot to enclose growing instructions. Ive had a quick search on google but cant find any on there :(

can anyone tell me the best way to start these off indoors please?

Hi Datura. I have no hands on experience with bamboo seedlings but I did manage to find this...says they are a little tricky but well worth the effort I guess.

Thankyou Hydrogen, that's just what I was looking for.

 

I grew some from seed a few years back. The key is fresh seed, and even then I had about a 50% success rate.

The new plants can be quite variable, so look out for any particularly interesting characteristics as the plants develop.
