Should add its probably not the best time of the year to be doing this unless you can bring the potted up pup into somewhere warm to grow new roots.

An unheated or even cool greenhouse may not be warm enough at this time of the year.

        Really strange, but maybe not.
Spent all day cutting back the Ensetes and digging them up.
Then came in and put the TV on, there was old Monty doing exactly the same thing.

Fabulous size Pete - I am really envious.

I have taken your advice again and just cut the leaves of mine in half - worked well last year, when they continued to grow very slowly overwinter held at 10C to 12C in my sun room.

Did mine a couple of weeks ago, left 2 leaves and a roller, left it tipped over a bucket in the shed for a few days for excess moisture to drain and then popped in a pot with dry compost and back in the shed :)

Hi Guys, last summer i bought another Montbeliardii which had 6 pups attatched by the time i dug it up at the end of the season,i gently prised them away and potted them up with my fingers crossed :)
Come jan 19th they were all still alive  as they were a bit bigger i decided to be daring divided the ones that were still clumped together, now some of the leaves have gone yellow:sad:
Will it be because ive disturbed them? They are in new compost and kept on the dry side so i doubt its a deficiency or could it be that im keeping them too dry after seperating them? Thanks x

joolz - they look healthy enough. It could be that after separating them, you can't help damaging the roots a bit leaving the plant with too much top growth for the leaves. If so the odd leaf will die back till roots and top growth are in balance again.

Depending on the temperature they may be only growing very slowly now. At 10C mine (maurelii) are just growing but very very slowly

I suspect that they will die off naturally - but I like to keep them tidy so would probably cut them off myself. I feel with mine - its a waiting game now, trying to keep them alive till the weather warms and they start to grow naturally.
