Best for freezing?

Ordered one, I`m a sucker for gadgets

 

I've got a Rommelsbacher 700w, 3 power settings and (up to) 12hrs timers with 4 additional trays, so 8 in total, but it cost something approaching £100.

So if I dehydrate my apples, what`s the best method of storage, I have a vacumn packing machine.

 

Me too. Vacuum packing is the best storage option.

 

We just pack in sealed bags and they easily keep for a year.

 

My economy electric is about half the price of my day time, but if you have Economy-7 you pay a higher rate for day time electricity - to incentivise you to use the night rate

Electricity is around 15p per kWH (haven't looked at my bill recently ... might be more ...)

Takes my drier about 8 hours to dry a "batch".

8 hours * 250/1000 kilowatts * £0.15 = £0.30

I would be surprised if my drier is 250 watts on the low setting - its more air than heat - but I haven't measured it ...

Full load for a batch is going to work out more cost effective than small batches ...
