It was a relatively simple low side crash at Misano in I believe 92 or 93 ? But had disastrous consequences for possibly one of the top 5 riders ever to get on a bike.
His races on the Yamaha against Kevin Shwantz on the lucky strike Suzuki were nothing short of wonderful .

That was a golden era. Doohan had just arrived too.
This season with Rossi and Marquez has all the makings of a classic as well. But I watched a film called Faster the other day and it served to remind me that Rossi and McCoy were doing the same things on the 500cc 2 strokes!

Mind you, this is just showing off by Melandri!

I know, I was trying to get to Eastbourne and it was choc a bloc bikes between Rye and Hastings  I was that curmudgeonly person who knew nothing about bike fests and was fed up being cut up by bikes then held up by them riding 2 abreast in procession when they felt like it :old::heehee:

They tend to have a habit of taking over Eve but they are entitled to ride two abreast as long as they take up no more room than the width of a car. :)

I forgot to mention above. Geoff will take his final lap round the TT course here on Sunday, no doubt with a large following.

I didn't really mind, wasn't in a hurry and it was no worse than the usual bank holiday traffic through that area. Just wasn't expecting it and there were literally thousands of bikes by the time I got to Hastings, and that's not an exaggeration

The Norton my brother has been restoring for a good few years is finally finished, I think he's made a good job of it. :) He bought it as a box of bits many of which were missing. The tank that came with the bits didn't belong to the bike so after scouting around he found another one that was in bad shape. It was sent off to somebody that specialises in tank restoration and below you can see the great job that was done on it. :)

When I last spoke with my brother he was getting ready to 'fire it up' but I've not heard yet as to how that went.
