Not come across E. zambesiaca, I'll look it up, possibly a winter grower, perhaps.

Edit, I see its what is used to be called E. autumnalis, I've heard of that.

I think I'd just follow the waiting game on that plant and hope for a flower some time in the next 10yrs.

I suspect there is a misunderstanding here, my comment of
was not directed at your information, but where had the plant come from.
I currently have only two varieties of Eucomis one in a pot in the greenhouse and one at the other end of the other garden.
You are lucky if you have a garden centre where you can get reliable information.

I never considered eucomis as it sounded like a disease but I was encouraged by this thread to have a look at them. They're lovely. Some sites say they're slug resistant, others disagree. Are they or are they not?

@NigelJ I once bought something supposedly eucomis Zambeziaca because it was theoretically coconut scented. Mine wasn't, and didn't look like the species. Does it smell of coconut?

Not slug magnets but not immune either would be my take on the matter.
If you planted them next to a Hosta you could get the impression they are immune.

I can't say I've noticed the smell, however if it flowers this year I'll have a sniff.
